Caps Off-Season Thread.......In May.......

Figured I would sadly and reluctantly start this thread. Backstrom signed a 10 year extension yesterday, and at a friendly 6.7 price.


My goals for the offseason -
Sign Volchenokov or some sort of valuable defender.
Sign Fehr, trade Flash.
Sign a decent second line center, or trade for one.

Thoughts on Backstrom trade, offseason needs?

Signing Backstrom for 10 years was great, and getting him at 6.7 per year is BRILLIANT.

Volchenkov won't be cheap and I don't want to overpay for him but if the price is ~5 mil per year I'd like to see him as a Cap.

MarcusJo getting signed is also good to see.

Yea, I think Backstrom speaking his language and playing his position could really boost his potential.

I'm just concerned at what the Caps are going to do at the second line center for the immediate future.
