Skins possibly grab a Corner in the draft?

I don't know if anyone else has thought about this but using a first round pick on a corner is not that far out of the question. I know D-Line is the number 1 concern but don't forget that if Champ were to leave after this season that would leave a HUGE hole in the secondary and as much as I love Smoot and Bauman I don't think either one of them is a #1 corner.
Just tossing it out there for thought.

We might make a push for Chris McCalister if we get Champ of the books since he knows the system fairly well but if not, I think D'Angello Hall from V-Tech is the best option since Chris Gamble from THE Overated University got toasted like a glass of champagne yesterday and isn't at Hall's level. Derrick Strait could also end up being the first CB taken.

Also if someone was to sign Champ from us after we franchise him would mean we could have 2 first round picks next year. Snagging a corner and D lineman is very possible.

I agree with you Shaggy. If we do lose Champ then we could possibly go after a corner with that pick. I don't think we could take a corner over a d-lineman in the first round if we had only one pick, however.

Tough tackler and good number 2 CB but I'm not sure he's got the cover skills. McCalister may be a better option. Snyder might have to srping for 51 ear plugs with him and Smoot on the same team though.

I don't want McAlister he's immature, overrated and a punk. He's lost the Ravens a lot of games because he can't keep himself under control. I wouldn't doubt that we would look at him if Champ left but I'd much rather look elsewhere either in the draft or other routes in FA.
