Our defense is just playing terribly right now. We have a horrible secondary, slow linebackers, and our d-line cant stop the run. WHEN Champ leaves next year, our bad situation will become worse. Where was Mr. Can't Do Right? For all of his talk, he should have done something other than get a 15 yard penalty and give up touchdowns on the same play. Is it just me, or is Lavar extremely overrated???

Welcome capitol_cop. Hope you stay around awhile.

Our D was there yesterday but playing overly aggressive. That is why they kept getting caught on those third down plays in the later part of the game. For almost three quarters the D was having a good game - then it all fell apart on them when we had Tampa pinned for 3rd/15. Our aggressive play burned us and the coaching staff didn't do a damn thing to adjust from that point on. I guess they just can't think that fast.

Thanks Pat

That's true, aggressive play did hurt us. That explains why we weren't in position to stop those little TE out routes for touchdown. I also think the play that turned the game was when TB converted that 3rd and 15. I was at the game and saw it develop. There was no one within 25 yards of him when he caught that little screen. It looked just like the play that the Giants used against us to get into FG position in OT.

Welcome to hR Capitol. Hope you stick with our Redskins family. You will find incredible fans and excellent discussion here,

Our defense mirrors the offense, they play well some quarters and others they collpase. What was wrong yesterday? Gruden took Edwards to school and taught him some harsh lessons. Edwards was clearly outcaoched and classed.

I agree. I think many of our defensive players are overrated. I front four are not very good. Linebackers are overrated. Secondary is actually the best part of the defense. I think Lavar is a good hitter and covers sideline to sideline but seems to not be in the right spot at the right time. Armstead seems out of position. Trotter is a run stopper when he isn't out of position. I liked the way Mitchell played last year in Trotter's absence. He seems solid all-around than Trotter does. Our line just needs help.

It seems like When Smoot left the game, the defense broke down. they could'nt cover, and with no pass rush BJ could have read the newspaper before completing a pass.
