Last week most of us expected a tough game against the bucs and then everybody saw how the Colts came back and suddenly by mid-week we should beat the bucs if the Colts can come back anybody can?!

The Colts were undefeated until yesterday and they barely lost to an undefeated Carolina team in OT. We barely got by MASH teams and suddenly we can beat defending SB champs and come back like a top tier team.

The bucs are a great team too. They only lost to Carolina and the Colts both were undefeated until yesterday. The bucs lost to great teams in the NFL right now so pointing at the bucs 2 losses does not validate a guaranteed victory.

We got beat by a team w/ a lot of talent that's been together for years. You can't outcoach talent for 4 qtrs especially when the other team has great coaching. We are a 2nd tier team moving up, hopefully faster than dallas.

Note: this does not excuse poor performances, just puts it in perspective.

I don't totally agree. Frist of all Tampa is a good team and has been put together well BUT it's still headed by a coach only in his second year (same as us) and has a revolving door with players just like all team in the league.

To think we could beat the SuperBowl Champs yesterday - HELL YES , we were doing it for almost three quarters. ........ NO SIR, yesterday we got slammed on one play, let our guard down and never recovered. THEN we got outcoached (badly) and totally took advantage of our poor play from that point on.
IMO - WE gave up!

I agree with E8...

I think too many Skins fans let their love for their team get in the way of realistic expectations the last 2 weeks. We got beaten by the Super Bowl Champs. BADLY. Plain and simple. If there was a guaranteed "lock" of a loss on the schedule this year...this was the week. We played one of the best defenses in the history of the NFL. (With or without their let down on Monday Night) I'm happy that we succeeded against them for close to 3 quarters.

Is our season lost b/c of this loss? Absolutely not. I've said all along that we would be in a good situation if we could go 3-3 in the first 6, considering 5 of those teams made the playoffs last year. (injury ridden or not)

It seems as if the "Doom and Gloomers" have come out in full force all of a sudden. Many of them are calling for the heads of Helton, Jackson, Edwards and Spurrier. Yeah...as if firing them is going to light any kind of fire under this squad. Yeah...changing the coaching staff again is going to create continuity? I guess Lavar needs another Def Coordinator? That should do wonders for his career.

There were coaching mistakes made in the game. (on O and D) I'm not going to overlook that. However, our players are not playing up to their potential, and that is the BIGGEST problem of them all. And blaming the "system" is nothing more than a cop out for poor performances on the field. With the way our players are playing, Spurrier could change his system and they woudld STILL underperform in it. Many said "Spurrier needs to ditch his audibles...That is the reason for the false starts." Well...I watched a LOT of audibles yesterday that didn't result in a false start. Why? Because the O-line is slowing learning not to move until the ball moves. (what a novel idea) In fact, we only had 2 false start penalties all day. Not bad considering what I've seen in past games. Many blame Spurrier for not using MAX PROTECTION against the blitz all day. Well...you simply can't do that on every play if you wish to throw the ball every now and then. Sometimes, you simply need your Offensive lineman (including your veteran Pro-Bowl Tackle) to do their job.

Hey...I'm as upset as anybody that we lost. But lets also realize we got beaten up by the Champs. To the "Doom and Gloomers", I advise you to check your false expectations at the door, and pick up a dose of Prozak and CHILL! The Skins have great potential...and the season is far from over. If we get spanked by Buffalo this weekend, then lets get worried.

I think many fans (like myself) are just tired of seeing very winnable games become losses. I am frustrated. I didn't expect to win yesterday, but what I hoped for was that this team would sieze the opportunities when they presented themselves. By halftime, I was very much of the mindset that we could win this game, so I am dealing with the let down of the 2nd half.

Can we please just put togteher 4 quarters of good football?

If you really thought this was a winnable game or we 'hung in there for 3 qtrs' you are delusional. This is a top 5 team! It's like riding a mechanical bull, you hang on a little bit and suddenly you're an all star rodeo rider.

Patrick what are you talking about? Gruden and Kiffin have been coaching for long enough to steer talent in the right direction. Just b/c they've only been w/ the bucs 2 yrs doesn't discredit how good the bucs are. They won the SB last year w/ that coach what are talking about?

Its only been like this the past ten friggin years.

My frustration is becoming more intense because each week, even the wins, I feel less and less confidence in Steve Spurrier and staff.
