Reading the comments below the video, apparently the older woman slapped the dude in the face. Not sure why. I was surprised the young guy didn't try to fight old man once he fell.

Based on the film, I would say that the young dude was probably ridiculously disrespectful, but he wasn't looking for a physical confrontation. He defended himself, but he didn't take it any further than that.

I was trying to figure out if the people that rushed in after security got there was supporting the young dude or the old couple that initiated the physical aspect of it.

I took it as they were against the young guy. Not sure if they saw the woman slap him. Then I'm not sure if they knew the old man is the one that initiated the fight. Probably sided with the old guy due to his age and the way the young guy was flailing his arms around like an idiot.

Here's a better view and sound. Guess the old man reached his boiling point with this punk.

After seeing this view, I am totally o the young kid's side. The woman slapped the piss out of him, he does nothing. He drops a few F Bombs, but he was like "Im not talking during the point....I have a lot of money on the match".

The people who rushed in, did so, only because the Old man looked like he took a bad fall. The dude at the end, I think was supporting the young dude to Security.

The incident was completely escalated by the lady and the old man.

It might be something old age related. We should get Shally for his opinion!

Could have been his daughter. The one thing that wasn't apparent during either video is what had the "couple" so upset in the first place.

If he raised that woman then he probably deserves a bit of punishment.

Clearly, the young guy was a lippy douche. I would have probably wanted to punch him too. I forget the comedian, but he made a remark about how women provoke a lot of physical confrontations with their own mouths because they're not the ones getting hit lol.

She should never have slapped him, but it's stupid idiots like him that ruin things for everyone. Why can't people keep their mouths shut? I can almost understand bad behavior at football games, and I expect it at Rugby matches but this was the US Open for crying out loud. Idiots all around on that day!

I don't care what the lady or old man said, the younger guy's language in a public arena earned him a butt whooping. I cannot stand when jerks drop F bombs regardless of the situation. I can't believe others didn't tell him to watch his mouth.

you want my opinion ??

definitely a generational thing.. younger kids think nothing of constantly using profanity, and it can be jarring and offensive to listen to.. still, it was verbal until the old fool attacked the younger guy.. stupid of him.. just call security to begin with a tell them the kid was being foul mouthed and abusive. let them do their job

You would agree that the appropriate response to such a kid is to call security as opposed to initiating a confrontation? If the kid doesn't have any respect, why would anyone think a confrontation is going to make him more respectful?

Why are people so offended by foul language when it is not directed at them?

We don't know what started the whole confrontation and based on his ignorance I am inclined to think he started it. Someone should have called security.

I am not offended by anyone's language, I just think it shows a level of stupidity and brash b.s. that isn't needed. I just find it extremely annoying when stupid punks think it helps their case by dropping F-bombs every other word, especially when the people they are arguing with are older.

Only time It makes me upset is when my kids are with me. On the way back from DC a couple of years back, Caleb and I stopped somewhere near Richmond for some late afternoon lunch. Walked in some college kids dropping F bombs every other word. While standing in line I had had enough and asked them to please quit with kids around. They apologized and didn't do it again.

If my son wasn't there, I wouldn't have said anything to the guys. Heck, for those who know me, I cuss waaaaay too much. [when I'm hanging with friends] :)

i AM offended.. why ? because i believe in civility, courtesy and respect. i was raised with manners and am proud to be known as a gentleman at all times. the fact that we have lost much of this common courtesy in society as a whole is everyone's loss. i have no problem with someone blurting out a curse when they stub their toe or hurt themselves.. or if they are truly enraged.. but that is far different from a constant stream of gratuitous vulgarity. again, it is jarring and offensive

you DONT NEED to be vulgar to express yourself.. i doubt if that young man would feel comfortable using foul language in church, or in front of his grandmother, or when applying for a job. i would guess he knows better but CHOOSES to inflict his vulgarity on strangers around him because he can.

we have norms here at this site and it is one of the reasons why i enjoy being here. as H2S says, "this is a family friendly site".. i applaud that

I guess for me, as long as my kids aren't in ear shot and even then, I don't view someones foul language as having anything to do with me. Sure it reflects poorly on them, but I don't get being offended and righteously indignant over it. But my kids hear me curse, so I guess I don't believe in playing the hypocrite.

I only have a problem with foul language when kids or my parents (mainly my mother) are around. Personally, I curse like a sailor, but I try to be respectful in front of certain audiences.

I understand why the old couple got mad, and agree with Shally with it being a generational thing. Some words are a lot harsher to the ears depending on when and where you grew up. I lived in the Bible Belt for a Summer and I had to painfully actively monitor my mouth.
