Another apparent upcoming rant by my least favorite pol of all time.. this time his personal fit of pique is directed at the late Senator Ted Kennedy
there is a link on the front page of the WaPo www.washingtonpost.com to an article about an upcoming interview on 60 minutes where Carter slams Kennedy for sinking comprehensive health care reform during his presidential term.. Apparently, Carter feels that Kennedy wanted to deny Carter that accomplishment and was willing to deny the nation reform just to spite Jimmy..
what can anyone say except that this is clearly a man who simply needs to slink off under the rock he came from?.. no pol i can think of has a greater sense of Ego and less reason to have that ego, based upon accomplishments..what an insufferable bore.
since this is directed at a fellow Liberal, i will defer to my friends on the left side of the aisle as to how much truth there is actual present

Bad enough when he was a moralizing ass, now he's pissing on Teddy's grave? Wow.

As the resident Kennedy hater, I have to say it isn't far fetched to think that Drunk Ted would put his legacy above the interests of the country.

It isn't, but I'd like to see some proof of the claim. For instance quotes from staffers who saw Teddy kill it during the Carter years. If memory serves, they(Carter and Kennedy) couldn't ever agree on a plan. So if Carter is claiming that Kennedy killed it by not agreeing with him, thats pretty thin.

If it's true, then it's true. I don't see how Kennedy's death changes that. Politics on the national level are bigger than one mans death. I'm not saying it is true, but to say competing politicians would deny each other political victories is not exactly out of the ordinary.

Why wait 30+ years to bring this up? Especially since the party in question is dead and can't defend himself of the allegations?

There's a little more to it than that. Kennedy's 2009 memoir came out swinging against Carter regarding their old healthcare debacle. Carter's book is merely answering those accusations.

I saw the headline at Wapo Yesterday and thought "Shally is gonna love this". Then I came here and saw that there was a thread, but hadn't opened it yet, so I wasn't sure who started it but I had a good guess. LMAO. I was not wrong.

Carter basically is saying that Kennedy killed it by not agreeing to what Carter wanted. Bitterness, thy name is Jimmy Carter.
