Has anybody ever gone to this auction site?
I had a buddy tell me he won a $250 dollar Nike Putter for $3.50. So I checked the place out. It looked good and they have a golf gps I want on there so I bought a bid pack for 45 bucks. After I deposited the money I began to learn how the site works and got a bit pissed I didn't realize it before I spent the money.
Here's how it works
I thought the 45 dollars was the money I got to bid with but I actaully bought a bid pack....78 bids. Essentially each bid is 60 cents. If you win the product you pay seperatly for that. So I can actually piss away all 78 bids and not win a thing and be out 45 dollars.
The products go up in 2 and 5 cent increments and each time you bid it adds 20 seconds to the clock. Basically its outbidding another guy in actual bids.
So I was pretty pissed that I didn't know that but since I was in for the dough I started watching different GPS auctions and was too scared to get in on some and saw them sell for between 3 and 5 bucks. I was trying to time when to jump in. I was going to do it today and pulled back. luckily I did because the auction went up to 20 dollars which is 1000 bids total.
There was no auction tonight for the GPS so I started watching a 150 dollars pair of Oakleys. I said screw it. There were no bids on it so at 1 second I put in my bid to make them cost 2 cents. The time went back to 20 seconds and it was the longest 20 seconds ever. But nobody bid! So I won a 150 dollar pair of Oakleys for .02 cents and 1 bid worth 60 cents. With shipping it came to just under 10 dollars. I'm pretty excited about it. I think there is a strategy in bidding but alot of it is luck. I got very lucky tonight
