I've come to realize that even though we have a lot of talent, both on the field and on the coaching staff, we have TOO MUCH INEXPERIENCE. Our head coach and most of his coaching staff are in their second year of coaching in the NFL. Our defensive coordinator is a rookie. Our offensive team averages 25-26 years of age depending on who is sarting. Our deffensive team averages 27 - 28 years depending on who is starting. And to make matters worst, our team has a ton of players picked up in the offseason trying to learn SS's system. With all this in mind is our inconsistand play really surprising? We show flashes of brilliance both offensively and deffensively. We show just as often that the players don't really know each other well enough to play a full game, that they are not on the same page all the time yet.

That being said, IMO SS should simplify the offensive a little, get the basic game running smooth and then add to it little by little. Keep the extra back or TE in the backfield for blocking until Ramsey is more comfortable with audibling to a 3 step drop and is able to get rid of the ball more quickly because he knows exactly where Coles or Gardner or McCants are without having to think too much. Edwards should take away some of the freedom from the deffensive group until they show they can play with discipline and then start to give them freedom in certain situations more and more often as the group learns to play together. Sometimes when small changes to a systems occur (marvs system, edwards style) it makes it difficult for players to change their habbits to match the changes in the system. Get the players to learn good habbits then give them the freedom.

Show the NFL that the Skins are making progress. Then in a year or two, when everyone is on the same page, when the coaches have learned how to handle different situations, then, maybe then the Skins will be back on top.

If it don't work by then . . . clean house.

Can't disagree. We do have some leaders and vets here and there, but there is no doubt that overall, we are inexperienced on the field and sideline. It will be a tremendous benefit if this team stays together and grow together.

AZ - I'm NOT disagreeing with you one bit but just wanted to point out THAT SS needs to understand the concept of the Pro-running game. In college he ran to maintain the big leads - in the pros, you run to OBTAIN (meaning setting up the passing game) the leads. Until then, the running game may produce (doubt it though) BUT it's going to be anything but SMOOTH.

Absolutely. SS has a lot to learn still. He has learned a lot already though and I believe will continue to do so.

He has learned alot already and I think that right now they are definitely trying to find the right fit for this team. We just don't know who we are yet.

Leadership, veterans, rookies, players, coaches etc; we can say all we want about what's needed. Reality is that Free Agency has put an end to the days when players and coaches develop with a team over a period of years. The owners and the commissioner’s office wanted parity and they got it!
The days of the dynasty have gone the way of the dinosaur!
Veterans don’t teach; rookies don’t learn. Leadership leaves when the money calls!
My 2 cents !
How I miss those days !

I like alot of what you said. Spurrier does have alot more to learn about the NFL. I also feel he needs to put more time in with game analysis of other teams to prepare. He still gives up on the running game to early. I think he has the mindset that if the run isn't over a certain amount of yardage, then to him it's not working. That's not how it's done in the NFL.

Now 4 cents because I agree 100%.
And you know, I really feel that in the near future we will see change again, maybe not like those days you miss. IMO - player in professional sports make way too much money for the product they produce.
