Hey where is Lionel Dalton?

Riding the pine. Pretty much what he would have been doing in Denver.

If Dalton is still riding the pine......Why in the he** did the FO trade for him? I say put him in and see what he can do. It couln't be any worse than the other defensive front line.

Welcome hailRedskins.com bear424

I'd like to see Dalton in there as well. Don't know what's going on with him or the coaches for not playing him.

The reason I asked the question is because I had read a few posts on this forum where people seemed to be tauting his potential. I was under the impression originally that he was just another cadaver signed to fill the gap in the middle. Does he have the potential to be anything special?

Dalton came over here REALLY out of shape. I think they still are trying to get him back into playing shape. Add to that the fact that our current group of DTs really haven't played all that bad as was originally expected.

Dalton will get some reps this weekend. His potential - for what we paid for him - makes a solid backup BUT we haven't even see that yet. ........ Come on Loinel - Prove Me Wrong!!!!

The Dalton infor is good. Let's see what he can do. Interesting comments from him though. Says he feels like he's on the practice squad. Here's a question I think that was posed before. Is the rotation hurting us more than helping us? Players get into the game and then get the adrenalin going and next thing they're pulled out. Just a statement I heard raised here before.

I still don't get it. Dalton is a player. I've watched him here in BMORE for years. I can't see why is still on the bench.

Look at the two pre-season games he wa sin. Look to me like he was dominating!

For God sakes put the man in. When you're struggling you shouldn't hold back. Dalton, Zellner, and Upshaw are the only chance we have to turn it around.

i agree fellas. and what about martin chase? he didnt do too bad in the preseason either. if haley gets that surgery, we may be seeing more of both of these guys.

We should see more of both. I'm baffled as to why we haven't so far. They were hailed as the solution to our DT problem in the preseason when Holsey and Haley were pencilled in as starters, and now we're six games into the real thing and the same two are still starting.

Our DTs have not really been the problem. The DEs have not gotten very much pressure and when they do get pressure its to late. Unless Dalton can play DE then I don't expect much out of him. Maybe L. Jackson can contribute.

You can apply pressure up the middle as well as on the ends.

Patrick

It kind of works both ways - Get enough pressure up the middle then the ends will get the single coverage - Apply the pressuse from the outside, then the DT get the single coverage. BUT the key is to get PRESSURE from somewhere - AND our problem is, we don't have the ONE (two is much better) player who is that dominating that requires double teaming. .............. I have saw Chase being rotated in last game. Couldn't tell you how many reps but he was in there. Unfortunaly, didn't make much of a difference.

I agree with most it was foolish to trade for this guy and let him set on the pine. put him in

I really, really, really, hope the reason he hasn't been playing is because of the draft pick next year....something like a 7th if he doesn't play a % of plays, and we give up a higher one if he reaches that number. I would rather see him play and contribute and worry about the draft pick NEXT year!

I really, really, really, doubt that it has anything to do w/ the draft.;)

I know they have said they will play him this weekend, with all the injures we have there should be several new faces in this weekend. I hope Dalton makes the most of his chance! I for one am pulling for him.

I think it may have to do more with weight and playing shape. Hell, they aren't worried aboptu a 7th round pick. Were used to be without picks.
