Adam Schefter talked to a "successful NFL front-office executive (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=schefter_adam&page=10spot/10week14)" and had him break-down how the top guys could fare:

Luck: "Tremendous poise and accuracy. Arm is good, not great. Lots of touch. Gutsy. Plays well in the fourth quarter. Reminds me of Matt Ryan and Peyton Manning. He's got the 'It' qualities. A top-five pick, maybe the first overall pick."

Newton: "Tough to bring down. Like Ben [Roethlisberger] and [Josh] Freeman in terms of his ability to stay on his feet and make plays. Strong arm. Inconsistent with accuracy. Misses some throws but has huge arm. A top-15 pick."

Moore: "Lacks some measurables you want. But guy is a winner. Doesn't play in a pro-style offense and I don't know that he's a great NFL prospect. I'd compare him to a Colt McCoy. Has a sense for the game, for being a winner. Not big and not a big arm, but a chance to develop. A third- or fourth-round pick."

James: "Explosive player. Undersized. Shifty. Good vision. Home run ability. He's a disinterested blocker. Like him better on the edges than up the middle. I'd even try him as a kick returner. Not a 25-carry per week guy. He's a little like Jahvid Best, just not as fast. He's a second-round pick.

I agree with this.

More Vince Young than either of those guys. Both of them played in a pro style offense, Scam played in a gimmicky spread. I think that he'll drop like a stone when teams ask him to break down a defense/reads.

Part of me wouldn't mind seeing the Skins take him in the 2nd. I think he'll be a quality NFL Qb for a long time.

James: "Explosive player. Undersized. Shifty. Good vision. Home run ability. He's a disinterested blocker. Like him better on the edges than up the middle. I'd even try him as a kick returner. And he's too small/brittle like Best lol.

kellen moore kind of has the "it: factor, hes a winner and i think could excel at a west coast attack.not sure about his arm strength to throw the deep ball

Cam Newton misses some throws? Should go in the top 15? Who is that clown offering draft advice? Cam leads the nation in passing efficiency. The clown must be reading his old Tim Tebow notes.

And how many GM/owners are brave enough to skip over Cam? Do you wanna be that guy?

So you think saying he'll probably go in top-15 makes the guy a clown? Newton's probably going to be the third QB taken, right? Isn't top-15 a pretty good bet?

FYI: other QBs who have recently led the nation in pass efficiency:

Tim Tebow
Colt Brennan
Rudy Carpenter
Stefan LeFors
Brad Banks
Rex Grossman
Bart Hendricks

I wouldn't touch Cam with a ten foot pole if I was a GM. Vince Young was as successful, put up as gaudy stats and did it for multiple seasons...and has been a total disaster in the NFL since running the NFL does you no good.

You really like Kellen Moore AKH? He's completely untested as a QB if you consider he has barely even been touched by pass rushers. I think he's been sacked twice in two years?

He's taken 23 sacks in his 3 seasons as starter. He needs work, but I really like his quick release and 6th sense of the pass rush. He appears to have the indescribable "it."

Would you compare him to Colt McCoy? They seem to be very similar QB's

Eh...more a poorer man's Drew Brees. Moore is short but plays bigger and he just makes plays regardless of what defense is thrown at him. I have concerns about the competition he played against, but I think he's a good QB prospect.

All these Heisman guys tonight are juniors anyway. Cam most likely to go pro though, I think. I saw receivers dropping some of his passes recently so I was just defending my boy.

And I saw him just chuck the ball up time and time again and watched his WR's make amazing plays on the ball. He threw one pass in the Alabama game where his WR was covered by three guys and some how the wideout still fought the ball away from the defenders and scored a 78-yard touchdown. He just doesn't have the speed to outrun NFL defenders and his passes are far too wild and inconsistent.

The best collge QB I've seen this year is Kellen Moore. Great footwork and a pretty throwing motion. I have no problems with his arm strength, but the 190 lbs is concering.

Cam Newton is hard to judge. He could be a Vince Young without the attitude problems (which isn't bad).

May be I haven't seen enough of Andrew Luck, but from the few games I've watched, he dinks-and-dunks a lot, mixed in with bombs. I don't see those consistent 20 yard throws with accuracy.

What I am trying to figure out is whether the mishaps he has had are over with or not. What is his work ethic like? If these are just things of the past and he is a dedicated player then he could be an interesting project that might drop to the second round.
