from a article on WJLA:

"The Washington Redskins (website/news) linebacker, who is quickly becoming a can't-miss interview every week on the stairs outside the locker room, said Wednesday that he has been "too loose" and that he will lead the charge to get his teammates more focused.

"We have a very talented team," Arrington said. "And I think that sometimes you tend to laugh a little bit too much and have a little bit too much fun and not pay attention to being serious about handling your responsibilities. Sometimes it can get lost in that laughter.

"I told guys I'll take the lead role. I'm focused a whole lot more. We can't keep letting these games slide away from us. If we're going to lose the game, lose the game because the team was better than us that day - not because of mistakes we made."

on Marvin Lewis;

"Arrington might give the Bills a different look by taking more snaps at defensive end, something he didn't like when departed defensive coordinator Marvin Lewis tried it last year.

"It was the just the manner in which it was conducted that bothered me," Arrington said. "Now I'm being put down to help. Last year, I was being put down there for other reasons."

Asked to elaborate, Arrington said: "I'm not going to get into that."

All talk until I see results...Sorry I am just sick of hearing about this or that every year and seeing no results. I want wins :(

Action speaks louder than words. Let's see it on the field.

My thoughts exactly. Less yackking, more tackling. And I'm tired of hearing Lavar bitch about how Marvin Lewis used him last year. Arrington led all linebackers in the entire NFL in sacks last year [11.5] and was our only real pass rushing presence most of the time. We had a top 5 defense with Marvin and Arrington's pass rush was a big part of it. He's being paid good money to do what is best for the defense. I wish he'd stop trying to earn his money with his mouth.

Last year was the first year he was really asked to play with his brain too and he got the hang the hang of it in the end. Edwards has to keep him under controll a little bit cause his gambling has killed us this year.

Yes, I'll certainly agree that talk is cheap. We really need Lavar to make some game changing plays vs. Buffalo. Our top guys have to seize this victory. I'm talking big turnovers here similar to Trotter's play vs. the Eagles. C'mon #56, prove your big play ability on the field!!

Please don't take this as a rip at Lavar....he is currently my favorite Skin but man since Gibbs left the Skins players have been all talk and rarely back it up on the field. I guess I am just venting.

Your venting liek we all are Tex. I am sick of the talk as well, take for example Lavar and Sapp last week. If your gonna chat, you better back it up.

Ummmm - don't forget we had a hell of alot better front D-line too.

I find it interesting - After the NYG game, Lavar indicated he needed to take the leadership role, Last week it was Players Only MEETINGS, Monday, Larvar apologizing for playing over aggressively, AND today now its back to Leadership. .... I don't know about you, but the talking and excuses are getting old. All of them, need to just shut up and play some good football. That will solve 99% of the problems.

Could you guy stand to see Lavar go. His contract is up soon and I for one wouldn't be too upset to see them let him walk. Just not to the Cowboys. What do you guys think?

i would not like to see him go anywhere. he is our best defensive player. he plays great other people need to step it up too like armstead and the D line.

Like anything else, it depends on how much money he wants and what our needs are. Lavar is the 2nd best defender we have; only Champ is better. I'd rather have Champ than Lavar, but even more I'd rather have both of them.

I think you'll find most people here love Lavar and would rather have him around than Champ. Not because Lavar is better than Champ , but because they believe Lavar is more loyal to the Redskins than Champ is.

We'll see how loyal Lavar is when [I]his contract is up.

Lavar is by far the best defensive player on the team, I question the way he is being utilized. It seems silly to keep having him sit back in coverage, instead of attacking the line of scrimmage.

Having major loyalty and feelings for your players, especially big impact guys, is a huge part of being a fan. At least to me, that's the case. Losing Champ or Lavar would be devastating. Those are OUR guys. They were drafted and brought up to the Pro Bowl level in DC. I just find it kinda heartless when talking about how the team could simply discard our beloved superstar players. I'm especially sickened when favoring future draft picks vs. signing current heros is in vogue in the forum.

I was wrong. Clearly there are some people who do think Lavar is better than Champ. That's not a mistake many NFL personnel men would make, though.
