View Full Version : How important is your HR Avatar to you?

I just realized I haven't really "looked" at my Avatar in over a year. In fact, I forget it is even there. I created it about 8 years ago and haven't changed it except on two occasions...when I gave it a black stripe for ST's death and at one point, I put a VT ribbon on it for support...but the overall picture has remained the same.

I notice some of you are like me...and have been carrying the same Avatar for ages.

Others, change yearly...some monthly....and others frequently.

And some don't have one!

Anyway...I just wanted to hear about how important the avatar is to you and why...

I notice everyones avatar. Some of you guys I don't even have to look at the screen name to know whose post it belongs to. All because of the avatar I see.

I change mine frequently. Other than the one that I used just after Luke was born, they don't mean much to me.

Now, If I had one like Carmellos....that would be my avatar forever and always. I like yours too dj. Lady has had the same one for ages as well.

They are the two most important things in my life. I used to rock the Charley Taylor look, but once my girls started rocking the B&G, I had make them my avatar.

I basically know who as a post is from based on their avatar. Haven't changed mine in awhile now.

I really appreciate it when folks have original pics - family, non-Skins interests, etc. The avatar is your online face and since the agreed upon bond here is our love of the team, it's nice when that face is unique.

guess i am a lifer as Blue...sometimes i actually think it is my picture now..lol

BEfore I had a kid and a real job... I changed it hourly. I'm ADHD so it worked. :D

Yeah, I havent changed mine in forever....Just being lazy to be honest, lol. I could change it, should change it, but kinda dont want to.

This thread could start a movement. Post a pic of yourself, family, pets, whoever...rockin some B&G in your avatar. It could add a more personal element to what I already consider to be a close-knit Redskins community anyway....Just a thought!

I usually have mine as Redskins related. I had Joe Gibbs on the cover of the Washington Post when he came back. I put Russ Grimm up to nudge him into the HoF. Clearly that worked. :) The old Topps football card brings back memories for me, so I hope it does the same for others.

I used for a long time one avatar made for me by one of the member of the board, then I changed following a suggestion of one of the former owner that I felt as a good idea : Obelix. It is one of the most well known french comics character. He even played rugby in one of the pbulished comics. He would have made a great full back.

Oh yeah I forgot the infamous 'bro's before ho's' Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton avatar. That one was pretty funny although I was asked to take it down because it was political and controversial.

I got rid of mine in protest at Snyder. I couldn't link Art Monk into what passes for our ownership.

Snyder disrespects everything that is BnG.

It's pretty important to me, and it's how I identify other posters here too. I've changed mine a few times but I always end up going back to ole faithful. Although CarMike helped me combine two of my favs into one lol. I'm freakin' fanatical about my skins, I believe my avatar properly represents this ;).

Mine is my little terrier mix Bingo. I found him on my porch one night starving and thirsty over 4 yrs ago. He's a pampered housemate now and is nearly human. He's a God-send.

My fav avatar is the one someone took with Sean. Might even should be on the homepage banner somewhere. It really hits all bases as far as impact. I also enjoy the frequently updated funny ones that so many put up.

Yeah, I used to change every once and a while as well but after what happened to ST, I knew that this would be my permanent avatar. I remember when Fent took that picture.

I always look at the Avatars. Actually, I look at that before I look at the name and I know each person by their avatar. Once, I think, Akh had a similar avatar to someone else and I was confused for quite a while.

The one with the Dallas toilet is classic. Mine I created when I joined to match my name. Quite honestly, it is the only way I can find and recognize my own posts to see who responded to what I said.

Off-topic : I just can't stand our coach management anymore. After 3 years of trying almost everything, his new line is to keep 90% of the old players. At least Johnson went all the way for you and up to now, he is the one who is right...

I still use that one and will probably never change it.

I remember you teaching how to use photo shop so I could make all those...most of them ended up as Sig Pics.

I stopped after I was asked to take down the picture of TO and Parcells. I really liked that one so I lost interest in making them after that.

I liked to keep newer playing shots of Skaggs in my avatar, then his untimely death occurred and I've kept it ever since. Still use him as an inspiration

I think I've had mine since stumbling upon this site 8 years ago. You all wouldn't know me without my pic of Joe Gibbs, heck most of you that don't already know me, think I'm a barrel shaped, short, old lady that drinks, smokes and swears
