Irish Redskin
09-26-2011, 10:31 PM

I hate this team so much. Game over because Haslett decides to send an all out blitz when its not needed. God I hate this crap, year after year the same stupid mistakes.
You run it twice and have them backed up...you'd think maybe show all out blitz the third time but drop back....maybe prevent the 1st down....incredible!
jaylen
09-26-2011, 10:33 PM
Kerrigan blew that play if he takes the outside rush instead of crashing the fullback he forces the early throw and we stop them instead he rushes inside and it gives Romo too much time. damn.

That was terrible calling an all out blitz on 3rd and 21. WTF!!
SkinsfaninNJ
09-26-2011, 10:34 PM
One more stop and a quick TO does leave Kyle and Rex a significant amount of time to only need a FG.
Of course, we have hardly moved the ball all game too.

Kerrigan blew that play if he takes the outside rush instead of crashing the fullback he forces the early throw and we stop them instead he rushes inside and it gives Romo too much time. damn.
Agreed. Too many times in the past Skins defenses have gotten burned by being conservative. I have no problem dialing up a blitz against the banged-up QB. The guys just have to get to him in time and/or Hall can't get beat.
BIGREDSKINSFAN1963
09-26-2011, 10:34 PM
that 3rd and 21 screwed us boys! SS DIFFERNT GAME IN DALLAS! no way should the skins have lost this game! this is where that missed fg haunts us!

live and die with the blitz
why blitz everyone on 3rd and 18 though?
smoak
09-26-2011, 10:34 PM
This quarter and drive has been the epitome of why I lost hope. The offense stands around with their thumb up their bum and the defense does just enough to lose... 2:03 left before I take Adam Mansbach's advice and "Go the F*ck to Sleep".
Note: that is a literary reference so the veiled swear is allowed. :)
Lavar703
09-26-2011, 10:34 PM
Kerrigan blew that play if he takes the outside rush instead of crashing the fullback he forces the early throw and we stop them instead he rushes inside and it gives Romo too much time. damn.
There was no point to blitz. It was not needed. Send Kerrigan but no a damn all out blitz on 3rd and 21

oh don't worry. we'll run 3 straight misguided passes in a row and then long bomb it on 4th into triple coverage.
jaylen
09-26-2011, 10:35 PM
Hall is no shut down corner thats for damn sure. terrible play by him there.
gotta stop them on 3rd down here.
Goskins11
09-26-2011, 10:35 PM
well i guess this team is what we thought they were and will only be .500 at best.

Most overrated Redskin in the past few years. I listened to a pod cast where analysts were breaking down just how many plays (and big plays) he allows.

i feel ya dude. that's where i was last year. your standards are too high. i just want to win 8. this team sucks. they are who we thought they were. I'm just disappointed that they couldn't shut gruden up. I think espn should be ashamed of themselves for basically being the homers for the cowboys. oh well. better luck next year.

09-26-2011, 10:46 PM
man. 3-0 with 2 division wins was gift wrapped for the skins and they couldn't take it. Cowboys fumble something like 5 times and lose 1 of them as all the rest bounce back to the player. Play calling is inconsistent and Bad Rex shows up at the worst time. Blech.

NCskinsfanatic

I dont blame Rex, the D played good enough, the block FG and the failure to recover Romo's multiple botched snaps and fumbles are what did us in.

09-26-2011, 10:46 PM
Sorry, I don't blame Rex for this loss. If you do, then obviously you don't know football.
Kyle Shanahan lost this game plain and simple.
i agree to a point but rex has to get rid of the ball there. he always crumbles when you need him most and that is why he's not a great qb.

Well we knew Rexy would cost us a game and there it was. I wish this wasn't so damn predictable.
The game was lost when Haslett decided to blitz on 3rd and 21. I have seen some coaches do some dumb shit but that takes the cake. He basically gave the game away with that all-out blitz. Why this man is a coach in the NFL is beyond me?

Kyle Shanahan lost this game plain and simple.
Kyle was bad, but so was Rex. He did give the Cowboys 3 with that terrible INT.
He also didn't do much to distinguish himself tonight.
colkurtz
09-26-2011, 10:51 PM
This game will be one of the reasons that the Redskins draft a QB with their #1 draft pick. Rex has no long ball. He has crappy mobility. He makes a couple throws that may or may not be INT. He is not the future for this team.
With the defenses of the NFL the QB must be able to move away from pressure.
Rex doesn't have that.
Emmanouel8
09-26-2011, 10:51 PM
You punch Rex in the mouth and he crumbles. He was a disaster tonight plain and simple. My goodness how many times can he repeat the same mistakes. He tried to outrun real athletes on to occasions after he saw it coming from a mile away! Throw the ball away you deuschbag!

Wake up call. We are not nearly as good as we thought. We lost to a bad and depleted team.
sadl this is something I think we all need to accept.
if they have Miles we are probably getting roasted.we need a bigger target in the redzone we don't win enough 1on1's out wide its why we struggle in the redzone.
we can't outscheme or win with our talent down there.
Dolla Bill

he looked over his shoulder and still fumbled throw the damn ball away. its not that difficult.
but its rex and his MO to make a totally dumb mistake at the end of games.
That's BS. Grossman didn't bobble the FG hold. Grossman didn't allow a 3rd and f'ing 21.
Did you not see the ENTIRE middle of the OL get blown up on that last play? He almost got sacked by his own guard and center, he was forced to roll out. Its easy to blame him because he lost the ball, but come on. Everyone hated Rex before this game is now wagging fingers telling everyone "I told you so."
I blame the coordinators plain and simple. Why do you go pass happy when you gashed their defense on runs during their touchdown drive? Why do you do an all out blitz on 3rd and 21.
Those are the people who lost this game.
SkinsfaninNJ
09-26-2011, 10:53 PM

blitzing all out on 3rd and 21 was a total brain fart. The blocked field goal was ridiculous. Those 2 plays probably hurt more than anything.
That being said, it just feels like Rex almost ALWAYS poops the bed in some new, stupid, painful way in big, end-of-game moments. There's a reason he was on the scrap heap in spite of going to a Super Bowl with the Bears.

Rex doesn't have that.
agreed his lack of deep ball and lack of pocket awareness is just a killer. we made our bed with Rex. This is the level of frustration we're gonna have to deal with all season long.

So sick of losing games like this. You just knew after settling for all those FG Dalas was going to find a away to win. Sick of D. Hall giving up big plays & playing lazy. 3rd & 21? Really? Wtf plus Kerrigan stopped and didn't rush allowing Romo more time. Rex is careless in the pocket as usual & it was just a matter of time before he turned it over. Kyle Shannahan remember Fred Davis? Good lord I hate these loses. F*ck Dallas all the time!!!

i don't blame Rex solely...but every game this year late in the 2nd half he has had a turnover, and should have had two tonight if Dallas challenged.
His propensity for red zone and late game turnovers did not change, they were just masked by our wins

You punch Rex in the mouth and he crumbles. He was a disaster tonight plain and simple. My goodness how many times can he repeat the same mistakes. He tried to outrun real athletes on to occasions after he saw it coming from a mile away! Throw the ball away you deuschbag!
But we know this about him already and it was the choice of our staff to go with him or Beck as the starter and they botched it. We could have gone with Gabbert or chose Ryan Mallett later in the draft. Instead we chose to enter the season with quite possibly the most pathetic QB battle in league history. I like what Rex has done the first two weeks but he is Rex and this is what you get from him.

Changes I'd like to see:
1.)I want to see what Beck can do. At least he can move.
2.)Time to incorporate Hankerson into the passing game.
3.)Start Helu

Everyone hated Rex before this game is now wagging fingers telling everyone "I told you so."I blame the coordinators plain and simple. Why do you go pass happy when you gashed their defense on runs during their touchdown drive? Why do you do an all out blitz on 3rd and 21.
Those are the people who lost this game.
I agree 100 % with the bolded part but imo Romo and his O made more mistakes, botched snaps and fumbles that we failed to recover along with that 3rd and 21 and the blocked FG lost us this game. Grossman made a horrible throw that cost us 3, the sack fumble wasnt his fault and the above mentioned items outweigh those two mistakes imo.

While I wouldn't mind having another option at QB, I'm glad they didn't draft a guy just to do so. You draft a QB if you believe in him. Clearly Shanahan did not believe in the guys who were available.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kerrigan has a better career then both of those guys.

get outta herwe with this load of crap everyone has to do their job. The qb throws the gift int that causes a fg , then his total atypical lack of aweareness in the fumble cost us the end of the game.
I wouldn't lay it all on rex but the way it ended is on him. No hard counts terrible deep ball attempts.
His lack of pocket awareness has been a big problem his whole career.

Although we've made improvements, tonight's game was just like deja vu all over again for me. Losing games like that has just become old hat.
Depressing, yet sadly predictable. Sorry, but I really didn't expect this team to win tonight. I pretty much called it at work. "Dallas wins, and it's decided by 3 points or less."

We had a shot at Mallett late and instead took Hankerson, whom we never play. The sad thing is I like Rex, I think he's a tough guy but he just makes terrible decisions at the most inopportune times. I don't even care to see Beck because he's horrible. We may as well let Rex play the season out and get our QB in the draft.

You're making it sound like its all Grossman. There's plenty of blame to go around. I'm not making excuses for him, but to be blind to the entire lack of execution up and down the roster was evident.
The OL sucked ass in the 2nd half. Playcalling on both sides was crap. Grossman not "making plays" when he's called on.
My real issue is, where was Fred Davis?

Indeed. Plenty of blame to go around, on both sides of the ball, during both halves.
Just because Grossman made one of the LAST mistakes doesn't mean that it was his mistake alone that cost this team the game. In every case like this, it's the sum total of all the errors and missed opportunities. Sorry guys, but this was truly a team loss. Both players and coaches.
We've got a long way to go.

Grossman was'nt the only reason by a damn long ways we lost tonight.that 3rd and 21 convert by dallas and the extra 15 yards hall gave them was pretty damn huge too! we'll see what type of team we have sunday against
the rams.that will be a sign of real maturity by the skins if they can play well, execute, learn, and adjust better in the red zone, and defense.

Rex certainly had a bad game and his weaknesses were clearly exposed. He is not the answer even for one year. That said, this was a team loss to a team playing with a large number of backups (some playing out of position), an injured qb who didn't practice, a center who made 4 bad snaps, and injured running back, essentially no wide receivers, and no help from the referees who made some bad calls (or missed them). Simplly inexcusable to lose this game and does not look good for the following games.

The game was lost when Haslett decided to blitz on 3rd and 21. I have seen some coaches do some dumb shit but that takes the cake. He basically gave the game away with that all-out blitz. Why this man is a coach in the NFL is beyond me?
I wouldn't have called a blitz either, however if he didn't call it & they completed the pass, he would've gotten criticized for playing prevent D.

If we have a good season (above .500) we'll see Rex until the end of the season.
If we start going downhill, then we'll see Beck at least for the last 3-5 games.
I just can't wait until we finally get a mobile QB, who can get us a TD or two on a long pass. Rex is worthless at anything over 30 yds.

I think we are a .500 team. Its not just because of rex but also because we lack the ability out Wide to make explosive plays 1on1.
Moss is still the only guy who wins man up. Unless we develop Hankerson how are we gonna get big plays throwing the ball deep without scheme.
Scheme can only take you so far someone has to start winning their match ups. I hought AA was that guy but he has regressed this season.

+1. I still think we can go maybe to 9-7 but we're probably a .500 team.
Moss is still our best WR. Gaffney is ok. Surprised at how little we're getting from Austin and Armstrong. I don't care what they're saying - Cooley is not 100%. Davis should be in more.
I didn't realize how much Rex was staring down his WR. In the NFL, you've got to have a mobile QB who can occasionally get you a first down with their feet. Who can make a DL miss once in awhile. Who can hit a wide open WR 30-40 yds down the field. Our starting QB for next season is NOT on the team now.

+1 agreed again. confused as to why Davis wasn't a bigger part of the game plan tonight. we went to Cooley who is clearly still not right far too much to night.
Rex just isn't the answer its not a newsflash or anything he doesn't have the physical tools to make things happen and with the sorta team we have thats what we need outta the position we aren't good enough to have a game manager. and he doesn't have enoug IQ to avoid the mistakes.

That's exactly the word I was thinking of for Rex - a "Game Manager". He's never going to bring you back from 21 points behind. He's always going to have at least one INT or fumble a game. Against a good pass rushing team he's going to take at least a couple sacks. He's a journeyman QB who we'll have to suffer with for this season.
But when we do draft our QB with our #1 pick, I want that guy to start from game one. Rex can hold his clip board.....

I'd actually just prefer Rex is gone if we draft a qb 1st to me Kyle is too much of a Rex guy to trust that he won't be in the ear of the coach saying the rook ain't ready yet.

I just see Rex killing us anytime things get tight late. Aside from not getting rid of the ball on the last play, before that he threw at least 2 terrible balls that should have been picked even when he wasnt under pressure. Did the same thing against the Giants once they took the lead but got lucky there. He clearly can't throw a deep ball and that will kill us all year long.
I know we gave up the 3rd and 21 play but the D looked pretty good until late in the 4th. They definitely seemed winded... more of a reason to establish an effective run game to give the D a breather once in a while.

Yeah, but at least the rookie can throw the ball 40 yards! He doesn't fumble 1 out of every 3 sacks. LOL. Kyle to Rex next year, "Shutup and hold that clipboard. And stop drooling all over me. The kid's got game!"
