I think most of us are tired about the SD talk. I don't think anyone really expects us to hold him under 120 yards. With that premise, i'm wondering who the "other" threats are on Carolina.

The people who stick out to me are:

Foster RB
Smith WR
Smart KR
Minter S
Peppers DE
Rucker DE

Foster is really getting to me this week. I remember his first carry against us in the preseason last year when he took it to the house for about 60. He's an excellent running back and he has the big play potential that we've been expecting out of Trung. I remember how change of pace backs used to kill us in the past (garner/watters in philly) so i hope we don't let Foster sneak through.

Steve Smith and Kevin Dyson.

Those are the two deep threats on the team. Dyson just got back last week, so he'll probably see at least a little playing time this week. They're the ones that will force our defense to spread a bit vertically and give Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster more running room. We need to have Champ and Smoot locked onto their recievers all day. Dyson might actually be the more worrisome of the two, as he'll be third or fourth reciever right now, possibly leaving him in a matchup with... Ade Jimoh.

Dyson is out for the year so I'd have to say Steve Smith.

Dyson's not out for the year. I did see on ESPN that he won't be playing this week, though. Inactive. One less threat to worry about.

Watch out for their center! He's been snapping the ball real well lately and his line calls have gone off without a hitch.

As I stated earlier, Ricky Proehl will be the one that'll hurt us this week. He's the one that will line up against our safeties and perhaps even our LBers. The Panters will find a way to get mismatches.

He may not lead in receptions or yardage. But when the Panthers need a first down they'll look his way. And he's great inside the red zone.

Proehl can be very dangerous if left ungarded.
