I have yet to see Ramsey go on record as saying he is the best in the game and turn down a $14 million in signing bonuses. Ramsey is a 2nd year player and threw a lot of completions, but he shows heart every week, gets up from every hit and comes back and fights again.

Show how Champ earned his money on that last drive. When you are "the Best", you don't let that happen. End of story. You are the fool for your blind allegiance to a guy that is more style than substance.

I'll say it. Ramsey played worse than Champ. Steve Smith had a few great catches all game, but he was pretty much shut down. The total was, what, four? And the last one was like Keenan McCardell's last week. The coverage was there, it was just a spectacular play.

Ramsey missed the deep throws all day that we needed to spread their defense. I'm as big a fan as anyone (see avatar), but he was off for much of the game.

Coles' numbers were 4 catches for 35 yards.
Smith's numbes were 4 catches for 50 yards.

You have to make that play if you are the best CB in the league. It was only a spectacular play because Bailey didn't intercept or knock it down. That's when you have to rely on your best in the business, #1 corner. Champ didn't get it done there, plain and simple.

Also the LB´s , again, blew the coverage on SD. It looks that undiscipline on assignments shows when the game is on the line. (Remember the Giants?)

Well, I am not saying that Patrick could not have played better, but he needs help. He cannot do it all by himself. That means the coaches need to play the players who can contribute (Rock instead of Trung) call better plays, get better execution from the O line, etc.

Ramsey has done nothing but earn my respect this year with the hits he has taken.

I would rather have 2 Fred Smoots at CB than risk paying 18 million in upfront money to Champ only to have him let us down in the final 2 minutes by not doing what he is supposed to do and what he says he is the best at.

Robert, I'm not arguing with you about keeping Champ or what happens this season or if I think Ramsey is a good QB or not. I'm saying today, in this one game, Champ didn't hurt us as much as Ramsey did. I have full faith in Ramsey as a player and a leader, and believe he will be a great QB. I completely agree that resigning Champ is a bad idea compared to what we could do with that extra cap space. But in this particular game, Ramsey hurt us more.

But there are players who make plays when the game is on the line. Say all you want about how Ramsey cost us this game, but when we were down by 3, he put the ball in the endzone and handed the game off to the defense. I think you know what happened after that.
