Once again I am left with the question why do we throw deep to McKants and Gardner? Coles Johnson and Jacobs are all faster... Someone please tell Spurrier to start using what he has

The way PR overthrew a few today it wouldnt have mattered. He needs a better running game so he can just settle down and get in a rythm.

plus Gardner dropped that on long pass it was a tough catch but still. I would have liked to have seen Coles get a shot at that he usually cathes just about everything.

Coles did get a couple thrown his way, but they were overthrown.

The deep passing game (lack of ) today was Patrick's fault. He badly over threw 5 deep routes (at least). Yes there were a couple of drops but mostly I put the blame on Patrick.

Ramsey was definitely off his game.. I'd like to know why? I thought he had a confidence breakdown.

Patrick gets all confused when he has more than three seconds to throw the ball.

How about his brain has been rattled too much or even shell shocked. It really became (to me) apparent the last series of the game. Sure that wasn't the best play calling, but his execution was really bad. ...... I will say this though, his second half (except for the last series) was much improved over this frist half.

I think we have a log jam at the WR position and I wouldn't be surprised to see Gardner traded in the offseason, whether it be for a draft pick or a player. I think San Diego would be interested in him. He was a Marty draft pick and I think they will be looking to unload David Boston in the offseason. The only way McCants and Jacobs grow next year is by moving up the chart and that won't happen with Gardner here next year. They need more speed on the field to stretch the D.

I am perplexed by Rb's overall question. Despite Ram overthrowing, we do tend to throw deep to Gardner and McCants often, and Coles once in awhile. This baffles me considering one of the reasons we added speed was because of the lack of downfield threat last season. USE THE DAMN THREAT!

I think it's a height thing myself. DMC is tall with deceptive speed and is usually matched up with the 3rd corner, to his credit, has be shorter on a few of the opponents teams.

I too think it is a height issue. The last time we went deep to coles was in the dallas game( I think) and he was matched up on Neuman, a corner who is about coles size. Coles was able to make the play.
