View Full Version : Tom Jackson, idiot extraordinaire

First, Jackson says that the Bengals can beat KC because, with parity, anyone can beat anyone. Then, forgetting he has already made this wise statement, he says there's no way the Redskins beat Carolina. I'm sorry Ms. Jackson, you can't be for real.

Than, while showing the Redskins highlights and the Stephen Davis fumble/TD, he says that Davis was definitely in. I don't care if you're a Panthers fan, no one in their right mind can say he was "definitely" in.

while discussing ESPN why all the hate for us from Mark Schlereth? he seemly never picks us to win and always has some type of remark for this organization (in a negative way) I thought he'd be a liitle different then the others seeing he once played here and won a SB with this organization.

ESPN has their fav. teams each year, this year its:
Chiefs, Panthers, Giants(always), Eagles, Jets and Broncos, and any other teams get the shaft from ESPN. The website people are more objective, but the NFL coverage on TV is criminal. Tom Jackson is usually good, but its clear he didnt actually see the game.

continued:
watch the NFl Primetime sometime and notice who gets compliments and who gets trashed. The Skins could win by 147 points and Berman and Jackson would not give them any respect. The only person on TV on ESPN who is objective is Jaworski.

Yep, Jaworski and Mortenson are objective.

for what it's worth I do like Brian Cox and Sean Salisbury on NFL 2night, they don't hold no punches back for any team or player (tell it like it is), and Salisbury was seemly the only guy who wasn't all over Spurrier a few weeks ago saying how he wasn't going to make in this league and he was over his head and what-not.

Well, its based in Connecticut. Look where all of those teams are located. What did you expect?

Until our team wins on the field we deserve to get Dog Piled as you say

yeah, but the skins dont deserve to get totally disrespected by ESPN

Why not everything they do from the front office down is an easy target

Dave, he can say that Stephen was definitely in as easily as you can say he wasn't. It's his opinion. He can have it.

I figured you'd take his side. He said definitely. That's a stretch.

JoeDaSchmoe

I don't see how you can possibly say that having an opinion that's the same as the ruling on the field is a stretch.

Okay then, since the refs called that pass interference on our last TD drive, I guess I'm well within my rights to say it was DEFINITELY pass interference.

did anyone else notice the color guy on the FOX broadcast didnt do any analysis, he just went on and on about how great the panthers were?

Yes, you are. That's your opinion. You can be of the opinion that Patrick Ramsey is made of swiss cheese if you want.

My problem was with his verbiage, not his opinion. I thought I made that obvious. The word "definitely" means "free of all ambiguity, uncertainty, or obscurity". On that play and on the interference, it is incorrect to use that adjective.

It's still his opnion. He can say the voice of God boomed from the clouds and said it was so, doesn't mean it's true. If you don't want to hear all-encompassing words like "definitely," "always," "never," and "conclusive" when people are expressing their opinions, you'd better stop watching TV.

Yeah, and I took issue with it. If you have a problem with my desire for less bias from morons like him, then you can stop reading my threads.

Well, no, I'd rather read them and post a response, seeing as I like Tom Jackson and don't want to see someone bashing him by calling him an idiot.

I also don't see how his particular view on whether the ball broke the plane of the goal line or not is bias. If I had to make the call, I would say it was in, too. Maybe not definitely, but I'd lean towards that side. And since the reviews are inconclusive, that's how it would stand.

And you'd be wrong just like your pal Tommy.

I cant help but disagree with Mr. Jackson's "opinion" I said the ball was not in when I saw it live and then I "definitley" said it was not in when I saw it the 13 times after that. While Jackson may not be a mooron the ref who calle it a TD was one. And yes thats my opinion.

Again... if we played as good as some of the other teams mentioned then the networks would have nothing to trash us about. The media is only given the amunition that we provide them with... and stupid owners and ego-laced coaches are the meat of the media fodder. Cant really fault them for biting on an easy target.

Well Redskinsdave how stupid does Jackson sound now? Pretty smart guy to me.

This is the correct answer. Play well and all the critics will shut up. Success solves everything.
