There have been some questions on how many teams make the playoffs, so I thought it would be good to post it here...
(Thanks goes to Keino for refreshing my memory on the rules)
6 total teams make the playoffs of the 12 in each league.
The (3) division winners are automatically in the playoffs.
The other three are wild cards, given to those with the best overall records. In case of ties...the team with the highest # of points scored in the season gets the wild card.
The top (2) Division winners receive byes in the first week of the playoffs. (Week 14 is the first week of playoffs) The other division winner and the other 3 wild cards play in week 14.
Week 15 pits the two Bye Division winners agasint the two winners of week 14.
Week 16 is the Championship for the conference.
For example: If the season were to end prior to this week's results...the following 6 teams would be in the playoffs for the Moncan Conference:
Division Winner Bye#1: dj_Stouty's "Snyder's Wallet"
Division Winner Bye#2: Seeway's "Scuttlebutts"
Division Winner Playoff spot: bfauble83's "[Insert Team Name]"
Wild Card#1: Chris Wright's "Lightning Strikes Twice"
Wild Card#2: Skinzaholic's "Pregnant Parrots"
Wild Card#3: BigCountry's "Jeremiah Freaking Rulz"
Since we have two conferences of 12 teams a piece...we decided at the beginning of the season to have the two Conference Champs (one from Monacan and one from Powhatan) face off in a "manually scored" week 17 Super Bowl.
