Could you help me with a draft question?

I know it’s early, but I’m trying to put together a list of each team’s needs in the 2004 draft. I figured the people on this board would know more than the typical sportswriter, so this is where I came to ask.

I’m trying to determine a need at every position: QB, RB, FB, WR, TE, T, G, C, DE, DT/NT (Nose Tackle), OLB, ILB (MLB), CB, S, K, P. I need to know specific positions. Not just O-line or linebackers for example, but what type of offensive linemen or linebackers.

Here are the categories I’m trying to determine for each team:

Desperate needs (a position you have a big hole at):

Draft priorities (positions you need to concentrate on):

Not a priority, but will draft if right player is available:

Might draft for depth:

Will not draft these positions:

Not all of these need to be filled out (not every team has a desperate need as a position). I’d appreciate any comments or suggestions for players you think your team might be interested in also.

I already have a 7 round mock draft, and a prospect ranking board set up here: http://e.1asphost.com/nonamedraft/index.html .

Thanks

Thats alot of work you did my friend I will sit down later and look at each team.... The problem with doing this is you never know which players teams will cut or resign and which players teams will target in free agency.

Actually, I was trying to get some idea of who you thought the Redskins would be looking at in the draft.

It depends where we pick.. If Harris and Wilfolk are gone Sean Taylor or Kevin Jones maybe even Kellen Winslow jr are all sure fire picks

I have an early version up now at The Huddle Report (http://www.thehuddlereport.com) . The link is half way down the page under 7 round mock draft.

If anyone sees anything out of place, or has any comments I would like to hear them.

Thanks again for you help with getting the team needs together.

1) DE
2) DT
3) RB
4)C
5) TE
6) OLB
7) P

We need to adress the defensive line before anything. We have a good secondary but the reason for our futility is we get absolutely no defensive pressure.

On offense we really need an impact running back who we can feed the ball to when we need to. If we don't put defenses on their heels with a solid running game, they'll just continue to eat Patrick Ramsey alive. I would have no problem with takin Kevin Jones with our #1 pick if Tommie Harris wasn't available (who knows where we'll be drafting at this point).

We might go for a punter somewhere in day 2 .. Bryan Barker isn't what he used to be and has been struggling for years.

If ya need any help with anything I'm always up for draft stuff :)

Slope you shouldda mentioned you're from TheHuddleReport. Love the site! Defensive line should be adressed but I also believe that Kevin Jones is gonna be very special and we cannot pass him up. Your draft board doesn't have him rated as high so I'll have to agree with what everyone else is saying.

#1 Priority has got to be Defensive Line...either a DE or DT should be taken with the #1 pick...

#2 is a power running back....especially one who isn't afraid to block...Ramsey took a lot of hits this year and you can't expect the OL to do it all. With the sophisticated defenses today you need a blocking RB to buy the QB time to get rid of the ball.

#3 TE...sorry...Zeron Flemister and Byron Chambers are NOT an answer

In later rounds they can pick up a Safety and a Center....

There should be little need to draft a punter...most can be signed as free agents following the draft.

However....lets keep in mind that DAN SNYDER is the owner of this team and you know that he is going to F#*@ it up! He is going to overpay for Cory Dillon and Warren Saap in free agency and draft Kellen Winslow in the first round. I can see it coming :-(
