View Full Version : 106.7 FM Redskins Post Game: Booing is ok...

Does anyone else tune into 106.7 FM's post game show?
There was some quick debate last night between whether or not it is ok to boo at a game if you are a real fan. If you're a real fan, you'll never boo your team, etc...
I have to admit they lost this listener after stating that whether you are a real fan or not is not a factor behind booing, and encouraged it.
I mean, yeah, a bad decision/play is just that, but I go to games to give my support to the team, and booing isn't that. A coach's play calling may be being booed, but the whole team hears that boo. How do you think it feels?
Opinions?

I hope they hear trhem loud and clear! Cause they need to start hearing it and assessing the way they play.

I'm also a Yankees fan so it's a birthright for me. I do think we Redskins fans boo at a reasonable rate and when the team deserves to hear it.

I'll never boo, as long as the organization is showing some effort to learn from thier mistakes.

I generally remain silent rather than boo, but I don't see anything wrong with that. How else are fans to let the team know they do not approve? Surely fans have a right to self-expression. In my experience, Redskins fans are very gentle with the team. This year's team probably deserves a lot worse than what they've gotten.

I have never been to a skins home game, so I dont boo. But I curse out the TV, alot, and usually like to slam things.

I absolutely boo
Are you kidding me?
One must clap and cheer or say a hearty BRAVO! when someone does well.
Likewise, a hissing boo is most appropriate when alerting a team of your disappointment. http://www.frugal-families.com/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif
(However, I do not curse a team...that is saved strictly for the officials.)

I'm sure my neighbors think they live next door to a crazy person with the way I yell at the TV.

I've booed the officials, I've members of the other team. I've booed the Cowboys.
But the only time I booed the redskins themselves, was against tampa bay when Rob Johnson went in the game.

I also hated when i saw the trade Synder sign.....he is a die hard skins fan and has been his whole life. He just have money and we dont. If any of us had that money i bet all of us would try to buy the team. All he has done is got great players here.....i would have done the same thing. Dont hate the guy for being a skins fan.

We were sure to voice our opinions as that airplane flew over on it's way from Texas.

I saluted, but that's just me. ;)
Smooooot, no one has a problem with Snyder being a fan. We have a problem with Snyder being a GM/Dictator. I know someone who considered buying the team (albeit briefly) and I guarantee he'd have done a better job as he would be far more like Cooke than Jerry Jones.

Dave, I saw that thing. What was it, 500 feet from the damn ground? My friend said "Holy God" and pointed up, and I saw more plane than sky.

I don't blame Snyder for loving the Redskins. Hell, I love the Redskins so how could I hold that against anyone else? I blame Snyder for bad hirings and bad signings and the fact that I have the sneaking feeling that, considering the product I'm paying for, I get ripped off every time I buy a ticket.

a REAL fan boos...why? Because he's so into his team that the thought of it being run like pure sh@$ sickens them. I have never booed, but I respect teh right to do so from those that feel strongly about thier team.

I, myself, have never booed at the team, but once I booed Marty Sh1tforbrains at the Panthers game in '01.
A little while after that, Arrington int the ball and runs it back for a TD. Y'all know the rest of what happened after that.
I was really frustated with the way Marty was calling the games, and at 0-5, I just couldn't take it no more.

Booing for my team never. (Silence is more effective as is leaving)
Booing for the other team - sometimes.
Booing a bad call - all the time.

As any DC sports fan Redskins/Caps/Wizards/Orioles (if you would consider that DC), have been a big disappointments for years. Ive supported all my teams through thick and thin. They deserved to get applause when they do well and sure deserve boos when they do bad. The redskins right now deserve to be booed, these a paid professionals with some of the most big name talent in the league and have an abysmal record, they deserved to be booed until they can pull it together. Plus, maybe a boo will give them some motivation, becuase obviously the coaching doesnt give them any...

Ok, obviously I need counselling because I boo everything
including my kid's Pop Warner league games...
(But to be fair to me, it's usually only the officials, very rarely our own teamhttp://www.frugal-families.com/forums/images/smilies/protest_2.gif )

With todays prices... and todays salaries... I think the players can handle a good "boo" now and then... and I deserve to give them one should I feel the need to vent.

This team is constantly supported by it's fans when they show up at games and pay the prices for concessions. Now, the ones that show up even when the team is doing bad are the diehards. The fans that no matter what, will stick with this team through thick and thin. That being said, yes they deserve the right to boo if they feel it is necessary. They're the first to applaud, scream and holler when they're doing well so it's only fit that they are allowed to communicate their displeasure with things are going bad. Unfortunately it has been too long.
