By now I'm sure you've heard that a man named Jones (forgot first name) was beaten by officers in Cincinnati, and eventually died.
A family member is going to sue because "this black attacking has got to stop".
What do all of you think?

I haven't seen it, but I hear that the guy was going after the cops, and that the autopsy proved that he died from an enlarged heart problem, not from the beating (he was also on crack).

It happened in a White Castle parking lot. The guy was thrown out of "restaurant" before the incident. Personally, I think it was the White Castle "food" that killed him.

This is another one of those "what the hell happened" things. From the video it appears that the cops just beat the crap out of the guy. But, it has been reported that he was on PCP and other drugs which can make a person almost super-human and he was a big guy. This certainly isn't the first racial incident involving Cincy cops though.

He was calling the cops rednecks. Then said let me show you what my mom taught me. And attacked the cops. Then as they had him down, he was fighting to get back up so they hit him with nightsticks. Thats what they have them for. As soon as they had him subdued they stopped. Thats how I saw it. My opnion? White Black Yellow Red Green Purple, if you attack the cops they have the right to defend themselves. If you had a stick and a 400 pound man attacked you would you drop your stick and try to take him down? Or would you use that stick to subdue him? Plus the man died from the scuffle not the shots from the nightstick. He had an enlarged heart and that is probably what killed him in the long run.

just to throw this in, the cops warned him 16 times (yup, 16 times) to stay back and get down which he clearly didn't do.
Cops clearly did their jobs here, playing the race card here is unnecessary and just lame.

Saw this on the news and was at first saying, "Not again." but then I saw once (and only once) the other part of the tape where they showed him (Jones) smacking one of the cops so hard the Cop flew out of the range of the camera.
I still don't like the beating though...

Here's the thing I don't like AGG. People are saying they used to much force, but the guy is still trying to get up once they start with the nightsticks. He won't stay down. Plus, they were hitting him in the fleshy areas and from what you could see it looked like nowhere near the head or chest. It appeared it was all on the sides in fleshy areas/ I saw them conduct themselves well in this situation.

Iagree Jporter. Sometimes force is required.

Sure wish they could use alternate measures though in these cases, like those net guns (they shoot a giant net over the person)...I know... I know... not every police force has these types of things.
I don't know, this kinda thing really looks bad to me, and I domean because of the races involved!

A stun gun would work and appear far less brutal except in a case like this, his over-sized heart may have quit with the zap too.

Well, that is debatable. I've heard they are far, far less effective on beings well over 300 pounds.
I'm sorry AGG, They tried doing it verbally, 16 times even. He didn't ablige. When a cop tells me to do something, I just do it. He's the law for pete's sake.

Oh I know J, when a person that big is that wired, verbal ain't gonna work, so they did what they had to do with what they had to work with, just sad is all...

Yup, and it keeps getting worse.
My mother in law is a principal here in town, and she just had to go to court for a ten year old kid that was dis a bomb threat on the school, bringing a gun to school and being a severe detriment to society. No, it was a not a misprint, he is 10 years old. The kid was brought in shackles. (I believe that's what they are called...he was hand cuffed, and ankle cuffed and the two were connected to each other.)
This is getting to be more and more common.
I have to go to magistrate court often as a plaintiff in civil cases. I represent my company on all civil matters. As I was filing on some people yesterday, two teenagers were being escort to the police vehicles. Both were shackled, I turned to look at them (the noise made me curious) and they both gave me evil looks and one said in his best punk voice "what are you looking at?" I looked right at him and said, "and THAT is why you're in here".
This world is going to the dogs. Kids killing kids for shoes. Principals getting beaten to an inch of their life because a child was verbally reprimanded. Lack of godliness is more and more prevailant. It's truely sad! (sorry for the rant) :D

Just curious; what kind of civil cases are being brought against your company?

none...I am the plaintiff...meaning I am the one that initiates the cases. Most are money / non payment based.
Although i am the one that fights unemployment cases.
