I'm hearing now that the Giants are talking to Johnson about coaching next year. Does he have anything left in the tank? I think that after Miami he wants nothing to do with coaching anymore, and he has that nice cushy job at Fox.

Money will change all of those "I'm fine with what I'm doing now" quotes that retired coaches like to give. That, and competitive drive.

Up here in the land of the big blue, the fans are rumbling worse than we are! Fassell has been a target of fan displeasure since the first few games of the season. The sports talk show callers have been calling for a new coach - and Johnson's name comes up. These fans, egotistical as they are thinking preseason they could win the SB - saw their dreams go to hell and back in a handbasket and are stunned.
The problem it seems in the "Big Apple" is that these franchises can't keep a big name, wining coach !?!?!!?

I keep hearing Tom Coughlin's name in connection with the Giants job. They wanted him about 10 years ago, but he turned them down and they had to hire Dan Reeves instead.

I can't really envision Jimmy Johnson any place north of the 40th parallel, or whichever one Florida sits on.
That being said, it would take a SS type contract to get him out of the booth. Not sure Wellington Mara is ready to cough up that kind of cash to a HC. Thank you Dan Snyder.

So have I Spence. On the Fox pre-game show they asked him if intended to come out or retirement and coach the Giants. His responce....."Where would I tie up my boat"?
I think he's finished as a coach. I could be wrong, but I think Coughlin will get the job.
