Is it me or is Champ trying to keep this team together by telling the f.o. if certain people(g.edwards/j.armstead) go than he goes also. It seems like he wants to stay. what happens thou if he is taged?

To me it sounds more like "If you want any chance of resigning me" or "if you have any expectations of resigning me, these things better happen" or not happen (releasing/firing) as the case may be!

There is room to be cleared to resign Champ.

1. Bruce Smith
2. Renaldo Wynn (I like Zellner better, same results, much cheaper).
3. Dave Fiore (the only bad signing of the FA haul this past off season)
4. Trade Rod Gardner.
5. Restructuring Lavar and Samuels contracts (although we will pay dearly for this in the future).

I think he's trying to make up for declining the first contract. Trying to get on the fans good side so he doesn't come out like a greedy player. And how does he do that? By standing up for a coach who has no chance at being retained.

Well, not on Champ is supporting Edwards. Most of the players are supporting him. Lavar is his biggest supporter.
