...will wish you were a fair weather fan if we lose to Chicago this weekend?

As much as it would kill me to watch us lose to the Bears a team with a QB that Spurrier knows better then anyone would absolutey kill me. But I'm still a Skins fan until I die and that will never change.

That's admirable considering you didn't have the joys of living through our better days.

Although it might seem attractive at times like this to be a fair-weather fan, I can't see how it could be as rewarding either. Did a fair-weather fan enjoy our three Super Bowl victories as much as I did? Not a chance. I'll put up with the lows in order to get those wonderful highs. I just wish there were more of the latter lately.

I agree with everyone so far. I just wanted to see how many of the people on here weren't true fans.

I don't know what the hell a "fair weather fan" is, but by the sounds of the replies, you must mean a bandwagon fan.
Being a bandwagon fan defeats the purpose of even following sports.

All these losses are going to make me a fan who died of high blood pressure.

Yeah, it's a hoot, isn't it! It's not real, though. If you look close at the pic you can see the web address where you can make up your own church sign (www.aboyandhiscomputer.com).

Even if I wanted to I could never have a different favorite team. It is not in my DNA. Grew up with Billy Kilmer, Larry Brown, Charley Taylor(graduated HS with his son), Pat Fischer, Clarence Owens, Delbert McCLinton, Chris Hanburger etc.(ooh that kinda felt good) have followed it all since then, too much of a fan says many. I am just bleeding and I need it to stop. Pissed and saving the energy, but I will never ever wish and root for a team more than I root and hope for the 'skins. I'm addicted too:(.

so who is the fair weather fan?

skinsfan44
12-19-2003, 05:14 AM
Hardcore, and a diehard to the day I die.

I bleed burgandy and gold.

The wife wanted to go see the LOTR "The return of the King" on Sunday DURING the Skins/Bears game. She thought that I would want to do that to, and I said "Are you crazy. I am not going to miss a Redskins game, even if they are 0-14."

I can't wait to see the movie, but it sure isn't going to be this Sunday.

After 21 years of marriage, she still doesn't really know me, now does she?

Fans,.......Coaches,....... and OWNERS can come and go..........

I can't help but Ride Or Die with my Skins. These are hard times. One thing I can say is we as fans are always hopeful. I just would really like to see this team play the way I know they can play.

The best thing about this season was............................

The "hailRedskins Tailgate" and me getting to see my first Redskins game (live....)........ and I partied with the "Funky 4"!!!!

Even after being reduced to wearing a Cow-pukes jersey (due to a bet over the Skins/Cowboys game) and suffering thru the chants of "Go Cowboys!" all week............

Monday Morning I will place on my head my burgundy cap-........The cap that symbolizes one of the many things I love.......I grew up around football-never had much interest in it-UNTIL the day I saw the Skins Vs. Giants in 1989-it was the most exciting game of football I had EVER seen-pure absolute adrenaline.......From that very moment on I knew that was MY FOOTBALL TEAM.

A few years later I joined the Army. The day BEFORE I went to boot camp (we were still in the admissions area) one of Drill Sgts. said, "You boys are lucky today is Super Bowl Sunday-you will get to watch the Washington Redskins play against the Buffalo Bills"-......That was a great moment for me........

I have suffered thru the Norv Turner Nightmare-and I have bit my tongue during Stever Spurriers stint here.......Am I a "bandwagon" fan or a fair weather fan? I am Redskins fan FOR LIFE. Even should we continue to struggle (which I HOPE NOT) I will still be a fan with burgundy cap on my head...........
