Remember, as we discuss our great draft position. The rookies who make an impact in the National football league each year are usually counted on 1 hand. Can you name 5 rookies off the top of your head who helped their teams win games?

So, where does that leave us? How are we to improve for next year?

Coaching! Its got to come from the coach. Especially when you lose 5 or 6 games by 1 score...usually a field goal....and usually in the final 2 minutes. A team that plays just good enough to lose in the last minute is not really horrible....only the coaching is horrible.

If we get somebody in here who can motivate and instill winning as a tradition...someone who cries when we lose to Dallas....and then add a serious pass rushing end....and a serious run stuffing defensive tackle...along with a defensive coordinator who knows what the hell he is doing.....

I think we could compete. I think we could win. And I think we could get back to being a respected franchise.

It all starts with coaching but lets not get too carried away with this draft pick thing. We will draft a defensive lineman number 1 but he may or may not contribute in the first year. We are going to have to make do with leftovers and retreads for another year, but at least Bruce Smith will be gone.

IF coaching is our main problem, you better get use to it because I think most of the staff will return next year. I think Edwards should remain with this team anyway. Give him something to work with on the front line and I think we'll all be happy. And your right, let's not get carry away with the draft because the one or two lineman that MAYBE picked will not be the difference of us producing a winning season (but it may help)
