Since we are rehashing all the mistakes this team has made.... Chalk this one up to Danny Boy......

yeah, it would've been nice to have him this season. I was one of the people who wanted him gone. I guess the only consolation is that he hasn't done anything for Cincy.

What makes anyone think he'd be any better? He hasn't played anywhere else.

well he averaged 4.6 yards a carry last year behind a terrible offensive line

That about sums it up for me.

*sigh ... I really like Watson
(Honestly I never saw what anyone else sees in Sultan ... he looked good playing against a bunch of recent college graduates who were almost to a man cut by opening day of the 2003 season ... Watson on the other hand actually played against NFL starters and played well)

We didn't give Sultan a chance, nor did we give Byron Chamberlain much of a chance, or John Simon, etc...despite all the talk. The personnel decision really puzzle me.

MAN!!!! are you on to something with this ...
WTFO ...
- #1 draft pick hardly sees playing time and makes no notable impact
- former Pro-Bowl TE hardly sees playing time
- #2 QB cut mid-season
- #2.1 QB out of football on opening day
meanwhile ... the major free-agents pick-ups looked good except for the injuries
- Bowen (my MVP for the Defense)
- Hall (simply outstanding)
- Morton (a kick-returner who found the end-zone behind PITIFUL special teams blocking, managed punt returns though not his forte, and put in some reasonable time as a change of pace RB)
- Fione ok but injured
- Thomas (fine job)
- Candidate ... better than any 4th round draft pick I can think of
MUCH better then previous year free agent dealings ... (e.*** ****., Trotter for WAY TOO MUCH MONEY when Mitchell put in a quality season previous year at MLB)
- crap ... forgot his name the DT who was injured in pre-season
all things considered Hasselbeck picked up the presumably complex offense enough to play in 2 weeks ... so I count him as a FO quality move also

Um Brokenstriker, I agree with just about all of your player assessments execpt:
Bowen: MVP of the Defense??????
Trung better than any 4th rounder? There was a guy named Domanick Davis drafted in the 4th round that I think looks much more promising (and has outperformed) than Trung

Trung sucks-he either breaks for about 7 yards or gets slammed just behind the line for a loss of 2-AND he cant break tackles.........

I liked Watson... but cant see how he would have changed much at all.

Skinz is right. I like Watson, too, but he wouldn't have changed a single game this year. When a team is as poorly coached and managed as this one is, a nice role player like Kenny Watson is not going to make any difference.

Watson would have changed things. he was our most complete RB. last year he was the best pass blocker a good WR and proved he could run against good def. in the regular season not pre season.
those are all areas which we are struggling this season. none of our backs can block worth a damn. Morton and betts have had a few decent games recieving out of the backfield but nothing consistent and we have had a few decent rushing games but no consistency.
watson was consistent when given the oppurtunity last season he was everything we needed this year

I liked Watson and I was pissed when we first traded for Trung. I think he would have made a diffence. He was a complete back.

All I can say is that he is a great guy and couldn't have hurt us this year. Trung has been a bust so far.

Hue Jackson told John Thompson that the reason why Sultan didn't play is because he couldn't block. He mentioned that while he was in school, he wasn't required to do much if any blocking, so it's not a strong point of his. No need inserting him when all he would have done was make the pass protection situation worse.

S. Davis was a 4th round pick. So thats not a good comparison for a Skins Fan to make.

Then why the hell did they take him over Watson?
