QB: Patrick Ramsey is the starter, and will return easily. Getting the foot healed weeks in advance than waiting until the off-season was smart, he should be back by QB School in March. Ram needs to work on mobility, moving aroudn the pocket and throwing on the run. He also needs to learn to take off and run with it when the opening exists. Spurrier's part in Ram's success and probably the success of this offense, is the sam ething he has done with Hass, shorten the playbook and keep out the stupid audibles. If you want to have success and you want to truly admit and relaize the Fun N Gun is dead and want to succeed, the let Patrick ramsey be a normal NFL QB, then sit back and watch.
RB Tremendous upgrade needed. This was one of the sole problems with the stalled offense in mid-season. The lack of a pwer back, a back that actually keeps defenses at bay, has helped destroy this offense. I woudl use Trung and Morton as third down backs, Rock and BJ as fullbacks, leave Betts go, and get a new big time power back to rack up yards and kleep defenses at bay.
WR Not much to change here. Resign McCnats to a multi-year deal. Hopefully Jacobs will make excellent progression in the off-season, and to me, this should be the do or die year for Ckliff Russell. I would resign Patrick Johnson as well and stick with those guys. Trade Gardner. Coles, McCants, Jacobs, Johnson
TE No question changes have to be made here. Cutting Rasby away was a horrendous mistake. We needed his blocking. We need to upgrade here and my bet is, we will get one on the draft. Flemister jsut does not cut it, Chamberlain fell off the map, and Royal has yet to prove he can actually play a few games without getting hurt. This position needs revamped. I think once again, Spurrier did some underestimation here and underestimated the importance of the TE in NFL Pro football.
OL I actually think for once we are fine here. Add some depth. The beginning problems seemed to be scheme related, most NFL experts predicted that and they seem to be right. Corrections wer emade and these gusy are playing well. I see teh starters being Sameuls, Dockery, Friedman, Thomas, and Jansen. Good group of gusy and keepign them together another off-season will really spark the cohesion they seems ot be building. Moore and Fiore may be cap cuts. Whiney has proven he can be good OT depth. Needs some new depth at OG and can get some young, hard working guys in there to do it. Dockery has worked hard, worked through hard time,s and that is a great notch in his belt. Has progressed very well,a nd has earned his starting role. We may see an upgrade at Center.
