I feel bad for Steve because here is a guy, who is as nice and classy as they come and the night he leaves, ESPN has Outside the Lines based on him and coaches who stink in the NFL after college success. I just can't imagine everything that his kid that is still in high school has to hear about his dad. I hear it all the time at my school, but he's not my dad so I don't get as offended. I can't wait to see Steve go back to college and rule the NCAA like he should. Steve, you said you'd always be pulling for the Redskins, well, I'll be pulling for you to. I think most of the people on the board will agree with me.
Unfortunately, he brings all the press upon himself. Look at how many times he ran the scores up on Vanderbilt, The Citadel, Maryland. How he would always look like he was whining after a bad play. Maybe his kid should go to Nebraska!

Jake sorry but Spurrier has no balls. The guy didn't hand in his resignation face to face but through his agent by phone, played games w/ Maske about his resignation, lied about giving the job 3 years, emphatically lied all year about not resigning, didn't even let his own assistants know what he was going to do,
even had poor Hue Jackson thinking he had a job next year, basically all he did summed up is cash $5 million checks for himself, called the worst offensive plays I've ever seen, had no clue as to what 85% of the team's names were, spent more time thinking about tee time than how to beat anyone in the NFC east, basically got outcoached everyweek due to lack of preperation, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.
I'm sure Spurrier's offspring will fair well in life. PSF and all the naysayers were right about this clown and I was wrong. Good riddance.

I feel sorry for him, too. The poor guy got paid 5 million a year to say "Aw, Shucks." Poor guy.

Well, I definitely feel his kids shouldn't suffer for his mistakes (and I'm sure everyone else here feels the same about that)...but I have ZERO respect for the man himself.

I DO NOT feel bad for Spurrier. His resignation says it all. He said something to the affect that it's hard coaching in the NFL. Alot of work that has to be done. DUH, didn't you know that already. His kids will get over it.

I'm not saying I'm a coward but If I had a chance to quit a job while playing golf in Florida, I'd do it!
