Smoooot! To me he probably had the most to prove, amid rumors of him being traded. But he played healthy, hurt and well all in the same season. He gets my vote.

Also went with Smoot. Great bounce-back year.

I think Smoot was the most improved player on the team..but Armstead was truly the best overall player on the D, IMO.

As much as he is labled the "old guy" on the team...he really backs it up in tackles/sacks...

I went with Smoot. I thought that he really proved himself this year. He matured into a leader and not just a joker like he has been in previous years.

Its hard to say after our defense was so pathetic all year...No one really stood out...

I'll go with Smoot I guess.

Armstead played 100% every down. He seems to always be forgetten. Why? He's our best player

I'm with DJ, had to vote Smoot. Loved the kids passion playing with his heart falling out of his ribcage! In my eyes he can't do any thing wrong. Ok atleast even when he EF's up I don't get made at him, he's earned alot of credit with me since he's been drafted. However if the poll was titled Smartest player, I'd vote Jessie! This man knows the score! During the bye week I had hoped that Visor would have took Jessie aside and asked him to lead (much like with the Giants) but it didn't realy happen that way. I'd give 1/2 a vote to Holsey if I could for becoming my favorite D-line scrubb, still miss Del!

I'm going against the grain. I'm voting for....(Betcha thought I was gonna say Matt Bowen :gwink: ) I'm going with Trotter because of the stats.

And he[Trotter] was playing hurt as well, but I still think Smoot deserves it this year.

Besides, getting tackles as a middle linebacker is nothing.

I liked Bowen myself....he seemed to be an upgrade at that position we sorely needed.

I would vote Smoot beacuse he had the best year out of the players. He wasn't healthy and still played as well if not better than Champ. I would say my biy Lavar, but his stupid penalties just kill us!! :smash:

Call me crazy but I have felt all along that Fred Smoot was always our best CB when we drafted him. GHe never gets beat deep like Champ does. And if he does get beat, he doesnt cry about it and say hes hurt.

I voted for Bowen but I could have easily voted for Smoot.

It's gotta be Smoot and not just because his play on the field. Bowen is making me miss Matt Stevens. All his tackles don't mean anything if you also look at all the 4th grade geometry angles he took, all the missed tackles, all the times he was late when he was supposed to bring help in zone covarege and he had some dropped INT's to add to all that. He only played in Green Bay when 3 safeties got hurt and now I can see why. Bring in a good free safety and move Iffy to strong safety. Ohalete is 10 times better and I think he'll be pretty good with a good defensive cordinator.

Iffy was playing SS this year. Bowen was the starting FS

Now that we are beginning to calm down from the absolutly wonderful news of the Return of Mr. Gibbs, lets get back to the voting.
