So why wasn't Jamal Lewis given a share of the NFL MVP, like they did when Terrell Davis and Barry Sanders won it? Is the NFL afraid that if a quarterback isn't named MVP everyone will stop watching?
My opinion is Jamal Lewis should have won the award outright and shared it with no one. But I guess I should not be too distressed since Eric Dickerson didn't win the MVP when he set the record Jamal was aiming for anyway.
This is clearly a quarterback award. No one else really is even considered. I think one OL has won it. Two defensive linemen. Two linebackers.
Because Manning and McNair are the best and without them their teams barely look good.

If they were the best no one would disagree to their being called such. Clearly, they are not the best.
I have no problem with McNair (the Titans will go farther in the playoffs than the Colts, without a doubt) but Manning is not the best quarterback. He does receive a ton of attention for doing what you're supposed to do, specifically study and take your job serious.
I really don't have to slam Manning to make my point. It is only a few hours away from one of those "big" games he seems to have so much trouble with. Will he rise up, prove his detractors wrong, and show the Broncos defense that what happened was an aberration or will he fold?
I am confident of the latter.
McNair
Passing Rating - 100.4
TD - 24
Int - 7
Wins - 12
Manning
Passing Rating - 99
TDs - 29
Int - 10
Wins - 12
Not much difference statistically. I would have to say that the Colts defense is one of the poorest in the NFL. 12 wins with this defense is a heck of an achievement.

This thread needs to be moved. I don't like seeing such positive things about McNair on my beloved Redskins only site :D
McNair and the Colts. Must Move

KingButz it looks like Manning isn't doing so bad. How confident are you now?

41-10. Perfect QB rating for the second time this season.

Yeah, I was hoping the Titans would get to face the Chiefs.

Looking at the original post... why would Jamal get a share of the award? He was way behind in the votes.

Depends on how you look at things, of course, but I believe a very strong case could be made for Jamal Lewis. He went over 2000 yards and averaged more than five yards a carry and he did it when every team he faced knew he was going to run constantly. Every defense stacked the line to stop him and only Tennessee [the top run defense team in the league] really stopped him. If we're talking about most valuable players here, it is hard to think of a player more valuable to his team this year than Jamal Lewis.

I don't think anyone respected Jamal's opponents this year.

To Hell with only RB's and QB's getting MVP votes. My man Mike Vanderjagt should get this award.
