The Post is saying that Charlie Taylor might join Gibbs' staff as WR coach, not to start a rumor, but his son Bobby is a FA. And the skins could use him as a replacement for Champ....

True, Taylor missed a lot of this season. He's got to be at least 5 years older than Champ, I remember Taylor playing for the Irish in the early 90's.

Okay, now I would rather pay Champ whatever he is asking than to sign Bobby Taylor. Isn't he 51 years old now?

Not sure why Art Monk is not being asked to come back as an assistant WR coach.

Does Monk have any coaching experience?

I mean, I'm all for getting the band back together, but we have already done the inexperienced coaching staff thing...

No, but that neither does D.Green. If Gibbs brings them in as assistant to the position coach, that where they get their experience.

Ok - that makes more sense. I guess I was thinking of these old 'Skins with no experience coming back as the primary position coaches.

We still don't know if Champ WANTS to come back. The only thing we can really do is keep him for one year if he wants to leave. And inf he does want to leave we should get as much as we can for him. I love Champ and i want him to stay but He couold be the highest payed CB in the league. The alternitive could be a cheaper CB (Charles Woodson) and two first round picks. That doesn't to bad to me

Well, one [apparent] difference between Darrell Green and Art Monk is that Green is interested in coaching. I have not seen any evidence that Monk is. Maybe the guy just doesn't care to do that. Let's face it: He's Art Monk. If he wanted a job I'm sure Gibbs would at least take the call and listen to what he has to say. The fact that there have not even been any reports about Monk [and that he made no efforts during his nearly decade-long retirement] lead me to believe he's happy doing whatever it is he is doing.

You have to remember that Art's idea of a fun evening is spending time with his family reading the Bible. [No, I'm not kidding.] You can't judge him by the standards you use to judge other people. I don't think football has ever been the most important thing in Art's life. Everyone talks about Darrell Green being very religious and family-oriented, but Monk probably outdoes him in both categories, he just does not talk about it much.

Bobby would make an awsome 3rd CB but I doubt he is ready for that. :)

Please lets not forget how miserably Gibbs assistants failed as head coaches in the NFL

So what does that mean? There are many caochs that are not suited to head coachs but are very good coachs
