According to ESPN and Chris Mortensen. (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1711902) This should change alot of mock drafts.

Excellent. This will help us, our options have now expanded greatly, i.e trades, draft position.

The Skins should take Fitz if he is still around. They have other needs, but he is a rare talent, too good to pass up. The O and D lines can be addressed in the 2nd-4th Rds.
No way. You must think that Spurrier is still the coach...

We can take Fitzgerald as long as he is a good pass rusher!

Yeah - taking Fitz with our pick would be a white flag IMO. We have MANY more needs and other players who are just as impacting that will be available at that time.
I fitzgerald is available when we draft, the phones will be ringing off the hook with teams wanting to trade up. We could move down and get some more picks.
If Fitzgerald is there when we draft .. which I don't believe he will be .. I would want him.

Why in the world would we want another WR ?

Everyone, say it with me now.... We. Don't. Need. Another. Wide. Receiver.
This enhances our pick's value and will give us better options for trading down.

Another receiver, not way. I'm on the NO more receivers wagon.
Drafting by need as opposed to the best player on the board is just plain irresponsible. When you have a chance to take a Fitzgerald type player, you take him .. you don't reach on a player based on his position. The best minds in the game draft based on talent, not need .. draft picks shouldn't be drafted for the purpose of filling a glaring need .. that's where pressure is too much and people flop. In the first round you take the best player available, regardless of his position. Drafting by immediate need is myopic and hurts the team in the long run .. that's what free agency is for.

Fitzgerald is not a better player than Sean Taylor.... As a matter of fact he isn't better than Roy Williams

Ford,
While I agree with what you said in principle. The fact is that we have far to many recievers to go drafting one in the first round. While I agree Larry Fitzgerald is an amazing talent and the thought of him next to Coles would give opposing coaches nightmares, I think that we have far to many glaring weaknesses to draft him. Fitz won't even be on the field if we get routinely pounded on defense. I do think that Fitzgerald declaring gives us a lot of options with our pick. We can trade down and get very good value now.

I agree with Ford that the best player avalible is the best draft statagy. I would entertain the idea of drafting Fitzgerald but IMO that would mean we should be willing to look at trade offers for both gardner and Coles.
Within the best player philosophy I think there is room for some fexability. Even those that die hard to it I think would evauate talent in teirs. Meaning IMO S Taylor is as good a saftey as Fitzgeranld is a WR so for this team S is the better choice.

While I agree with the need for DL, I also think that Fitzgerald will be the best pro from the draft. I mean it's the classic Vikings case with Randy Moss. If you had the choice between selecting say Grant Wistrom or Randy Moss, who would you pick? Both come at the same price.
Touch call. Now choose between Randy Moss and Darren Woodson at the peak of his career.... no brainer folks. Safety just isn't a top 10 position.

As we all know by now the Eagles are in dire need of a good WR, would the Skins ever trade within their own division? I hope not!!!
That would be awful to have draft day arive and we trade our #5 pick to Philly so they can take Fitz ... hope that doesn't happen.

Fitz is a player that you just can't pass up on with the 5 pick. However, I suspect he will not be around that long.
For those who say we don't need a reciever, if he is available and we go with someone else, check back in in 2-3 years and let us know how much you wished we would have picked him up.

When Fitzgerald played against Miami and Taylor he did nothing... Miami is the only team in the big east with NFL callibar defensive backs and they shut him down

How many weapons did Pitt have? Exactly one, every team tried to take him away. Miami was the only one that had any sucess. Kind of like marvin harrisson, you know what is comming and can not stop it.

Fitzgerald will NOT be available by the 4th pick. Thanks to him being eligible for the draft, we now have a better chance at taking the first defenseman off the board at #5. (Assuming Manning, Rosthesberger(sp), Fitz and Gallery/Andrews are 1-4....)

That dosen't make any sense... The Colts have Edgerin James , Reggie Wayne , Marcus Pollard and Brandon Stokely they are far from a one man team so think of a better compairson and get back at me. The bottom like is in his biggest game of his career Fitzgerald did nothing,

You can't line up 4 WRs every play!! Gardner is a very sold #2 guy, Jacobs can't be termed a bust, YET.
TRADE DOWN!!!
