With Clarett being ruled eligible for the draft, I think he would be a player the Skins should look at taking in the second round. Do to all the controversy it seems to me like his stock has slipped, but I remember nothing but praise for him when he was tearing up top flight competition as a freshman. What do you guys think?

i think we should NOT pick him up, hes already shown to be a malcontent and Gibbs doesnt like that kind of attitude. Anyways what has he done lately, NADA, Id rather take greg jones in the second if we take a back in that round.

Best case scenario is Clarett going to someone ahead of us, thus dropping Greg Jones to our spot.

i think if clarett drops to us, we should seriously consider clarett if he falls to us in the second round
he is a top rate talent, with nice speed, makes good solid cuts, has demostrated good vision, ran behind a less than stellar line, and has very good size
i don't think that this guy has any less talent than either or the backs that many on this board are clammering for near the top of the first round, s. jackson and k. jones
bottomline he may not be ready to be the go to guy but at 6'0" 230, with breakaway speed, i think he could be a star in the next couple of years, that we may end up kicking ourselves for passing on

i wonder what this will do with all the mock drafts and the real draft too.

Best case scenario:
We sign either Staley or Dilon and trade down in the 2nd round to get Clarett.

I think Clarett is a bigger risk than you realize and will not go in the first round and may easily slip past the second. Injuries, attitude and one freshman season, no thanks.

Actually, Clarett is the same weight as Chris Perry and Stephen Jackson, yet only an inch shorter.
He is also the same height as Kevin Jones...yet Clarret is 15 lbs heavier.
And...he is taller and heavier than Julius Jones, Mewelde Moore, Michael Turner, Tatum Bell, Adimchinobe Echamandu and Ran Carthon. (All top 20 RB prospects)
I personally like Gregg Jones for the Redskins in the 2nd...but if he is gone, and Clarett is available, I say we go for him.

I would take him.

There are way too many variables for Clarett. Injury, attitude, and inexperience. Think about how many players may zero in on him in a game to try to take him out. Who knows. On the other hand, he has tremendous talent. The boy has vision, he knows where to go and has just the speed to get there. He may be the pick that alot of teams just kick themselves after the fact. He does get my vote, if he's there for the taking at a much later round. I like Chris Perry and Greg Jones. Both are work horses, who would fit in well, and well under the cap.

Again, he'd be perfect if we signed Corey Dillon or Duce Staley.

i think clarett will be a redskin think about it if they dont get kevin jones or steven jackson some were in the first round and greg jones is gone by the second round look for clarett to be picked i am just saing
Clarett in the third is the only time I would take him. There are good dl's that can be had in the second if Greg jones is gone.

i think we should take a chance on clarrett in the 2nd round if he's there and he impresses the scouts. i think winslow would be a good pick for number 5....although i think that brunell would be a great addition to the skins, i think we should save our 2nd rd pick.

He was hurt in his only season of major college football and has not played ball in a year. No football conditiioning to speak of. Why would you want to risk a low first or high second round pick on a guy in his only season of major college football did not demonstrate the ability to stay healthy?
We are not the Buffalo Bills.

I think you are going to find in fact that he is not 6' 230 and not as fast as people think. I might take him in the third round and then only after an extensive search into the gambling allegations and back ground check.

The fact of the matter is that the Big Ten is not the NFL and if he can't stay healthy for a Big Ten season imagine what seventeen weeks of the best football players in the world crashing into him would do. Is he a talent?...yes. Can he be aquality NFL RB?...possibly. Is he worth a pick that could be used on a more seasoned athlete and when there are more glaring needs?...no.

I thought Greg Jones showed much better lateral movement in the hole in the Senior Bowl, much better than Ron Dayne ever did.

I dont support Clarret in the Draft, but i think that people are a bit hard on him at least in his playing abilitys i mean look at Ohio State with him on the Team they had a perfect season and took the National Title the next year with almost the same team and a different RB the Played far below there potential and these RB's behind clarret were spose to be better than him the recuited them more than they did clarret. I'd like to reinterate the fact that i dont support clarrets court decsion but hes a good back and thats all there is to it.
