Here's a couple of questions for everyone.
1. Who thinks that Champ will re-sign with the Redskins?
2. If he goes RFA, who do you think would give up their #1 for him?
3. Whoever gives up their pick, how do you think the skins would draft?
Just a couple of thoughts. Talk amongst yourselves.

1. I think the Redskins will attempt to resign him. But...Champ may think his value is higher than what the Skins are offering. So, no...I don't think the Redskins will resign him, soley because of CHAMP, not the Redskins.
2. I think just about every team would consider giving up their #1 pick for Champ. The real question is who would consider giving up TWO #1 picks...or one #1 and more picks/players. Houston and New England have been recently rumored to have interest.
3. Assuming they keep the #5...I can see the Skins taking the best available at #5 (Taylor/Winslow) and using their other one or two first rounders for D-Line folk such as Udeze, Smith, Wilfork, Starks or Dockett.

I've seen in other mock drafts that Pittsburgh was usually the first to draft a corner. My gut tells me that they may want to sign Champ before trying to draft a corner that high. If that scenario plays out then, having 2 #1 picks, I want to say top 15 wouldn't be that bad. Maybe Taylor and crossing fingers, maybe Udeze or even Kevin Jones.
On a side note for Pittsburgh, it was either a corner or running back, it was usually 50/50.

If a second rounder for 33 y.o. potential cap-casualty Brunell is the benchmark, then I guess that means Champ Bailey is worth someone's entire draft.

I really hope champ leaves and gets burned somewhere else.
If anyone's interested you can check out my thread: Best Draft outcome which explains what i think we should do if we get those first round picks

i think the fact that there are so many other capable CBs in the FA market will hurt Champ's chances of getting some of the money that he wants. he is clearly the best of the CB crop but our FO could point that out to his agent if he really wants to play hardball. with that said, i think he will be resigned.

Many of you might not like Champ for wanting more money or saying hes not worth it. Pro Bowl last nite only featured 2 skins.....Champ being one of them. If we re sign him and draft Taylor or Udeze and get some DLinemen in FA....our defense will be nasty.
I think his nice pro bowl performance will help him. Isn't it ironic that the game that doesn't count is his best?

1. I think Champ will resign with the Redskins. Dan Snyder isn't one to let a star player leave. He'll fork over the money when it is all said and done.
2. If he is franchised, I see Atlanta and Detriot as the most likely destination. Both of these teams have cap room and need a corner. I don't think Pittsburgh is a destination because they are having cap problems and cannot afford Champ's contract. I think we will probably get a 1st and a 2nd round pick for him.
3. It all depends on whose pick we get. If I am right and its Detriot or Atlanta then we would either pick 6 or 7 which means I could see us grabbing any combination of these 2 guys: Winslow, Taylor, Harris, and Udeze.

1. Not me.I think Champ will play hardball in negotiations and will have to be tagged.
2. After having the tag applied The Falcons(horrible secondary)or the lions(just as bad)would be the best scenario for us and as Shaggy said above the most likely.
3.Keep the 5 take best available(Taylor anyone) and trade acquired pick for later 1st(Udeze,Wilfork,Starks?)and a 2nd or 3rd this year.

I figured it this way. If Champ does leave, then we couple of things could happen.
1. Draft Taylor from Miami @ #5.
2. Using the other pick on Udeze at a later round.
3. Possibly go after Chris McAllister out of Baltimore?

If the FO lets go of Champ, it'll be because they feel the money can be better spent elsewhere. So, they'd probably bring in some cheap scrub to replace Champ, because if they wanted a good cornerback, they would've just spent the extra money to keep Champ in the first place. They'll use the money they saved on cornerback and spend it on DLine.

Champ will be traded. I think we'll get a 1st and a 4th for him.
