Snyder wanted him as DC before he even hired Gibbs.
Williams said he will run a 4-3 aggressive defense with the safeties close to the line. Bowen said he likes that.
Williams said he received no guarantee that Champ will be around.

Could be this statement was made for a reason. Hmmmm....
By the way...I'd LOVE to see Sean Taylor blitzing on every other play....

Finally, after asking over and over why we don't line up 7 or 8 men on the line of scrimmage and then send at least 5 on every play....finally an answer to my prayers.
We will be sending 4 to 8 men on passing plays and using different formations to hide who is coming. Thank God they have finally hired somebody who thinks correctly, and wants to ATTACK instead of READ............. AND................ THEN...................... REACT.

Don't worry Joe, in his press conference he mentioned you may see us line up in a 46. He said you can expect more packages from the defense. 3 down linemen and 3 linebackers, 2 down linemen.....

Attacking defense, I like the sound of that. I was on the fence for Taylor/Winslow earlier but now I'm all about Mr. Sean Taylor. We've got to keep that pick if he's as good as people think he is.

Wow. Simply wow. Man, we have not had a defense like this in yeras. You mean we will actually attack? Be aggressive? Not just rush 3 and 4 all the time? Not fall into sissy zone defense and allow teams to run right down the field.
This off-season continues to get better.

Don't forget, we've heard this thing about our defense being an attacking one before and we've yet to see it. I feel more comfortable hearing from Williams though.

The "46" defense is just a package that comes from your basic 4-3 alignment. Saying that he will run from a 4-3 does not preclude running the "46" defense.
The name "46" does not refer to an alignment of players. It was named the "46" defense for a player Buddy Ryan used to coach with the Bears. I think his name was Doug Plank, and he used to wear #46, if I am not mistaken.
I think we will be seeing variations of this alignment, espeically if Bailey is back in the fold.
