I posted this on another thread and figured it would be a good topic for some feedback.....

Isn't it funny that all of the talk that went on last off season,........ we were all surprised when the first day of FA hit. I wish I had transcripts of all of the predictions and rumors on this board at the time.... we were all sooooo wrong. (I am so glad to say)

I wonder if ole Danny Boy is sending out his smoke screen again, ya' know:

Fly clear across the united states to do three 12 hour interviews just to hire Joe Gibbs. Whom he had already talked to. Gibbs had already talked to Williams. etc.... etc.... etc...

There has been alot of talk about The Redskins and who we are gonna acquire. Sapp, Kearse,Dillon, Duce, etc....

What are we gonna do with our 5th pick: trade down, Winslow, Taylor, Jones, Jones, DT, DE.... etc... etc... etc...

Hell, I've got a co-worker (a Pat's fan... what does he know about the B & G?) that has bet me $20 that we are gonna draft a OG in the 1st Round. (I took the bet because I know what we have on our O Line but anyways....) With the moves that have been made in the past I still hope that that's sure money.

This is a sneaky business and The Daniel is a mean YOUNG BUCK in the game.

I hope he makes us the most hated team again this off season........

It is possible that some of the rumors were started by the Daniel himself. As I have said before he and Vinny did an excellent job last year by tapping the FA market. I fully expect some more surprises this year as well!

Well, some of what they did last season payed off. Coles, Hall, Thomas, Morton. The Trung thing didn't. They (Vinny and Snyder) may have started something by attacking young, proven restricted free agents as opposed to gambling on young, unproven rookies. It'll be a little harder now because other teams will probably try it as well now.

I must admit that Dan did a great job of keeping the Gibbs thing quiet. Williams was funny in his press conference when he talked about Gibbs coming to talk to him using RedskinsOne.

The funniest thing to me about Williams is this....I had heard on Monday that Williams was about to sign with the.....you guessed it.....The Jets! Then two days later I hear that Gibbs is the Redskins coach again and that Williams will be named the DC.

Another person we stole from the Jets. So it has already started. And don't be surprised to see the Skins make a hard play for John Abraham, DE for the Jets.:D

Yeah, I remember Kelly mentioning that. Poor Kelly, we keep taking people away from his team. Speaking about Kelly, where has he been.

Last offseason we had a great offseason. The only mistake was getting Candidate and Rob Johnson. But hey after 3 horrible years that can be forgiven. We also redefined how teams handle RFA's.

OG in the first round? That's a bit farfetched. Wouldn't be surprised if we went RB or DT at 5 though, otherwise it's Taylor or Winslow. Or we trade the pick.

Very possible. With Vinny evaluating talent, you never know which way we will go in FA.

Another variable we don't know about yet, is how the new staff liked what they saw when they started looking at film of the current roster. How they feel about those players will go a long way in determining what we do in FA and the draft.
