i'm having mixed emotions about this whole thing. not sure if i want to see qb contraversy with Ramsey involved. i also know Gibbs would't do anything he didn't think was necassary to win.

I'm still pondering this one. If it's done, we'll have 3 draft picks left. That means there must be or will be a deal to move down from the 5th pick and gain extra picks. How far down, I'm not sure. Since he probably won't come cheap, there has to be a decision on what to do with Champ as well and IMO that means they have something worked out with another team already. I just can't see us signing Brunell if it happens and franchising Champ (that's $6 million against the cap alone).
Gibbs has publicly complimented Ramsey on his play and he says Ramsey has been pushing to get the playbook which isn't complete yet. Gibbs has always trusted his veterans so I guess I can understand his reasoning. I just wonder how the numbers will affect us long-term.

I have the same feeling Hail2!!!!
When i first read about this I got angry. Then after thinking about it, some competition must be good for PR.
Nevertheless, Im much worried about our DL and RB situation.
A question for you guys:
How can they be negotiating Brunnel right now??? Is this legal???

Interesting you should ask that. Swanson was asked about it and said we don't comment on players under contract with other teams. I believe both teams can come to agreement but it can't be announced until March 4. There aren't talking directly with Brunell, they're talking to the club which isn't illegal. Once the agreement is announced, then the Skins would have to negotiate a contract with Brunell.

Actually, I believe Gibbs is supposed to meet with Brunell on Monday.

Any trade for Brunell would more than likely have to involve draft picks for this year. Keeping that it mind, I think it means 2 things. The trade won't be fore this years number 1. It will be a sign and trade as Brunell has a $10m cap number this year and 3. I would think it ensures we will trade down from #5 to gain extra picks in this years draft.

You can negotiate trade details during the moratorium, which we are in now, but cannot officially consumate or announce the trade until the start of the trading period.

Maybe the Trade is for Rod Gardner who is from Jacksonville and they are a team that needs a few WR's.
