All the teams know that he will be released before the draft, then why does Brunnel? The Jags have said they will release him on March 1 if no trade happens for cap reasons.
What am i missing?

To ensure that they'll get him.
I'm sure we all know that, but i still don't think that peace of mind is worth a second round draft pick. Draft picks are gold this time of year... oh well.

It's all about what personel people deem as who is more valuable. A franchise QB is harder and more valuable to find then a franchise RB. Also, Staley will be available so there are options at RB. There aren't any other starting QBs that are expected to be available.

If Brunell went on the market, there would be a bidding war for him between 5 teams

Yeah - $10 million next year, but he would have to restructure - I'm sure that's part of the deal. Probably the reason he's suppose to meet w/ Gibbs early this week.

I'm willing to bet Brunnell will take a lot less if he knows that he'll have the oppurtunity to start.
