When asked if the Redskins have fielded any queries from other NFL teams about trading for Ramsey, Gibbs replied: No, I dont think anyone else in the league would be that foolish, to tell you the truth. We have a good young quarterback and hes not going anywhere.

i am just speculating, but i think Champ is on his way out for sure b/c in all the Redskins stores his jersey has been marked down to $29.99 from $69.99. the same thing happened when Davis was on his way out. Oddly enough, a player's merchandise prices are an indicator of his status with the team. When they put all his stuff on clearence, chances are good he won't be around much longer and they don't want to be stuck with useless merchandise. on another note, i was in a redskins store today and they had just gotten in the Authentic Lavar jerseys with sewn on everything. VERY NICE!! $260

Clayton just said that jimmy sexton will try to push for a trade if brunnell is signed. doesn't mean much but if he doesn't want to be here, will Joe make him stay??

I knew Gibbs wouldnt let Ramsey go - Too talented. - This is going to suck - 5 months of rumors and bad media "hunches" -

the faqct is: no matter what happens, Ramsey isnt going anywhere. Even if they get Brunell(which they wont--dont believe the hype), Ramsey will sit like Rypien did.

Great find SR80!! Thanks!

My favorite part: So I think hes kind of chomping at the bit. Hes been one of the guys who has been here [at Redskins Park] everyday. We like everything about him. We think we have a good young quarterback here.

I'll bet Ramsey's agent pushed for a trade as well.

Don't forget that Ramsey has escalators built into his contract depending on the % of snaps he takes under center.

If he takes less than 50%, he only makes 1 million in '04. If he hits 50% of the snaps, it raises to 2.4 Million...and it jumps to 2.7 million if he takes 70% of the snaps. These were the terms Sexton demanded during Ramsey's holdout two years ago...

Just food for thought...

i really dont think this means a whole lot guys...i wish it did...but gibbs isnt gonna come out just yet and say ramsey is on the block...if he does that things could get real ugly if the brunnel thing doesnt work out...(look at the red sox/rangers)

Just because you want a trade doesnt mean you're gonna get one. This is just static, Sexton is good friends with Snyder and if he really had a problem, he'd take it up with Snyder personally.

Well to me, Joe's going to put the best QB on the field. If they do get Bruenell, Im pretty sure they can work out a cap friendly deal for this season at the very least.Bruenell would want to win and knows we need a few more pieces,so it would be in his best interest to structure his contract to help the team. This being said,Ramsey doesnt have an absurdly high contract. And If Ramsey is hands down the better guy no way Gibbs sits him.As I said before Joe will want the best man to win the job.If thats not Ramsey then its not Gibbs or Bruenells fault.Ramsey is the future. But his future may be a season from now after learning this system and if he's as good as i think maybe he proves himself on the field to Gibbs THIS offseason.
