I want D'angelo Hall if we lose Champ. Hall is a playmaker and his aggressive style would be nice to have.
Anyone know how he is in run support? Probably not to great as he is pretty small.

He's decent in run support. He is very aggressive which tends to cost him sometimes. He reminds me a lot of Smoot when he came here. He's got a big ego and will gamble for the interception and isn't afraid to butt heads. IF Champ leaves I would look for us to make a big push at Antione Winfield whom Greg Williams coached in Buffalo. Its seems like a good match

I agree with Shaggy, Hall is better than average in run support and will not shy away from contact. He is actually quite strong for his size and an exceptional athlete. He could also possibly be the fastest DB at the combine. He does seem to carry a chip on his shoulder though and his penchant for trying to jump passes has me a little nervous about him going up against precise NFL receivers and QBs...

Do you have the same compaints about Smoot?
I like Winfield and I think that he'd be a good fit, but i'm worried about the amount of money that we'll spend in FA. Winfield would be a pretty good sized contract, i think...

Winfield would cost us less then Bailey though. And if we can afford to sign Bailey I don't see how we couldn't afford Winfield

yeah use draft picks on Safety and definsive line, maybe running back like Greg Jones (I hope) and get Winfield in FA

Hall is overrated. His numbers are bumped up by VT. I'd rather we went after Winfield.

i agree soo much with that statement. hall is a sleeper compared to where he is being projected. he is a total playmaker and a beast. in my opinion, he is also the best cb and a top 10 prospect in the draft. my favorite play of the season was in the miami game when he ripped the ball out of the miami players hand, and then i think he ran it 4 a td. he's a triple threat-offense, defense, specail teams.

If he were to be drafted at be our starting corner I wouldn't want him returning kicks. Its too much of a risk to have a starter on your team returning kicks. Thats why we are paying Morton

I think Winfield is a real possibility, especially since there has been no communication between Bailey and the Skins, I think they are simply going to tag him and try to sign someone in FA. Winfield may follow Williams to Washington.

I watched quite a few VT games this year and I thought Hall was inconsistant. One game he would cover WRs like a blanket. The next, he would get torched.
I'd rather go the FA route...

I would love to have him
If we have a mid-lateish first rounder from a deal, we could take Derrick Strait. I am biased OU fan bla bla, but I've cooled on Everage and don't pump him up, so I'm trying to be fairly objective. Strait is good in coverage, probably will run a 4.4x if i had to guess, and is a BIG HITTER and sure tackler. He's not amazing, but he's very, very solid. He's a much better prospect than Woolfolk was last year, and I think he may be a future pro-bowler. There's a good chance Hall's off the board quite a bit earlier than Strait and they might even be able to trade down and pick up some picks and get him.
