View Full Version : How far down............

After all the surprises so far, beginning with Gibbs arrival, it really would not surprise me if the Skins ended up trading that 5th pick in order to make up the 3rd for Brunell or just to get more young players that Gibbs can mold.

If we should end up trading down....how far down in the draft is it predicted that Greg Jones may fall. Any chance that we could trade down....get Udeze....then trade a 2nd and 3rd later on to move up and get Jones?

Has anyone heard where Jones stands on Kipers chart right now and some of the other big draft prediction sites?

Good question but dunno...

Everything I've read still has Jones as the 4th best back in the draft behind Jones, Jackson, and Perry. I still think we can hold tight in the second round and grab him provided somebody doesn't jump ahead of us.

Yeah, what Shaggy said.

So then basically you have said we COULD trade down with Houston, just for instance, pick up Udeze, and then trade back up into the first if necessary to get Jones.

I think that is a lovely idea, if it could work out like that. Jones is a battering ram and Gibbs may be eyeing him.

Not that I'm an expert, but as Shaggy said he is anywhere from the 3rd to 5th rated back in the draft. I've seen anywhere from late 1st to late 2nd. I guess it's just what's taken ahead of him and how team needs fall - a total crap shoot!

After FA, I really think that only two RB's will go in the first rd.

The only team that stands in our way of getting GJones is Detroit. I'm hoping, because Detroit runs a WCO (GJ can't catch) and plays on artificial turf (bad for his knee), that they'll think Perry is a better fit for them.

I'd still rather have Chris Perry then Greg Jones

were gonna trade champ for the lions pick and a later pick...get Safety Sean Taylor, take Udeze with our pick and get Perry or Jones in the second round bc both will still be available

I like you thinking Dave. Taylor, Udeze, and G. Jones. Now thats a good start to a new Era!

adding to those thoughts....

if champ goes we get Detroit's #6pick and if Denny Green does stick with McCown, then don't you think Miami would love our #5 pick to take Rothelsberger?

We still pick Udeze at 6, then Starks at 20(miami), then Greg Jones with Detroit's 2nd Round, and finish it out with Carlos Dansby and cut Trotter to use his money on filling Champ's shoes.

AND we'd have Miami's #1 pick next year...

Okay, I get a little carried away...I blame that on Gibbs.

Problem is, to trade down theres got to be a team who wants to trade up. Then there is the Champ situation which would create another problem. IF everything were to play out, we'd could very well end up with two #1s and two #2s. ..... Don't think we can afford that plus sign some FAs.

this is all really simple
trade champ get a 1st and 3rd from detroit
draft taylor with the 5th pick
trade down to number 10, get another 3rd rounder and draft udeze at number 10
get greg jones in the 2nd round
