I doubt that anything else big will happen until the Ramsey situation is resolved. I beleive that Ramsey will be traded.....

That NFL commercial that say the NFL stands for not for long.. I just don't see someone who will be willing to sit for 3 or 4 years..... Ramsey is going to seek a trade wouldn't you?

Yeah I would and don't blame him one bit...just make sure he goes to a team we dont play alot.

Ramsey is going to be a good QB in this league, I hope he comes to his senses and agrees to play here next year since Mark is bound to miss a few games. We need him on our team, but if he doesn't want to be here then he needs to move on.

Yeah - Ramsey already has the taste of starting and wont sit for long. Which just places us in the same position 3 yrs down the road.

Ramsey has no leverage. He is going to stay unless Gibbs is offered alot of compensation. So let us focus on our supreme need which is the entire defensive line.

Well said. The compensation we can get for Ramsey will just go up and up. By mid-season next year some team's QB will go down and they'll be desparate for a QB with starting experience.

Next Move ........ Great Question
Gibbs&Co are keeping us guessing that's for sure. With the little bits I pickup here and there, I have the feeling that Defensive improvements will come through the draft and offensive through FA. Other than the RB, the only other thing Gibbs could want (besides the always upgradinging thing) is possible an OL and TE. ....... But there again - we won't know until it happens.

Ramsey can "seek" what he wants...being that the Redskins OWN his services under contract it isn't up to him if he gets traded. Now what he can "seek" is intense workouts and desire...and a lack of pouting and try to put forth his best effort to win either the starting job or backup job. He can easily find himself 3rd on the depth chart with a poor attitude. He's young and will come around....getting a veteran qb will be the best thing for him, but it'll take time for him to realize that because for some odd reason he believes he is the incumbant starter.

Next move, if it's Dan's call, Warren Sapp, if not we get 2 younger D-lineman. Then it's Duce Staley and onto the draft.

I would have to say we will make a trade invoving Champ. I hate to see Champ go but it is the only option I see

I agree 57...
The Champ deal is already in the works, so i think that is next.
Byner probably wants a look at the running backs that we have before we decide to make a big investment. I don't see Duce coming here.
So
a) deal with Champ
b) sign a FA DT
c) sign a blocking TE?
Look to the draft for DE, another DT, later round RB and maybe a safety?

There has to be some kind of deal in the works for pix. we were already short in the picks area starting of, now we just dealt another pick. So there must be some moves in store to accumalate draft picks. and I think that they are already in the works. Probably a Champ deal already done and waiting to be anounced...

I think it goes to Champ and right after that we will work hard to ink Ted Washington. Then we may address running back, unless Gibbs is dedicated to drafting a RB, which, like i said, i just can't believe Gibbs would base his offense on an unporven back.

given how Ramsey plays QB ... two years on the bench getting a low first round pick's compensation will "allow" him two additional years as a starting QB earning starting QB wages ... I don't think he survives starting more than 5 years ... he should be happy about the bench time from a financial point of view

Ramsey does not earn starting qb money because its still his rookie contract. also, if he sits on the bench until this contract runs out he wont be getting a very big contract next time around. so in ramseys eyes this is really bad.

I lost you somewhere I meant that if he can be physically protected and paid $600K a season for the next two seasons, then inherit the starters position ... I think he has a short career as a starter since he stands and takes such punishment ... the next tow seasons on the bench will prolong his career ... his next contract negotiated as a legitimate starting QB should pay him significantly more that his current contract does even with incentives ... this way he gets two years "added" to his football income life ... and those two years will generate significantly more money then the two years he sits. The catch I guess if I read you right is will he ever become the starter ... I say if he doesn't ... he never should have been
Snyder is the master of multi-tasking. He is not going to take care of one matter and then move on to his next project. We also know that he will strike fast. His plan was already in motion when he came to an agreement with Gibbs, then spoke with Fassel and Rhodes. Remember how impressed Fassel was with Snyder's preperation for next year. My guess is that the greatest impact will come from trades and Free Agency aqcuisitions. The draft choices, if any are left, will not be counted on to carry a great load. In other words, they are going to be backups or 3rd down specialists. Any way you look at it, next year is going to be exciting. With Gibbs's dedication, leadership and organization skills, the #1 coaching staff in the NFL's guidance and Snyder's wallet, the Skins are definitely back and looking to kick some booty!

I see the Champ trade situation being the next thing addressed. If we get some good draft picks out of it, we can then have a better idea of what we want to do in free agency and the draft(e.g. if we get two #1's we take Taylor and a dlineman). As far as free agency's concerned if Champs gone we have to get another vet corner and under any circumstance we'll need to get atleast one vet dlineman.
As far as Ramsey goes, I'm of the attitude if he doesn't want to play here then trade him, get a good draft choice, draft a young QB who does want to be a Redskin and play for a coach already in the HOF.
