Skins take Udeze at #5. Sounds good to me, though I think Taylor is also a solid choice there.

Udeze over Taylor is insane imo

I guess Udeze is really moving up the boards.

Reports are that Udeze is calling around telling people that he's going to run a 4.6 at the combine. Time will tell, but if he does hit that mark, I think that he'll be neck and neck with Sean Taylor.

It still depends on what we do on March 1st and second...If we sign Darren howard or trade of Abraham their is no way we pick another De that high all these mocks are interesting but rarely right.

I heard the rumors about his possible 4.6 at the combine.
If so, it could help warrant the use of the #5 pick. (Although I would prefer to have Taylor)
If anything, this may reduce our chances of "trading down" to get Udeze, as many here want.

I would love to have Udeze. The guy is a hard worker and an effort guy all the way. When USC needed him to drop weight and play DE he did it. He does what the coaches ask him to do and he's improved every year in college. AND he's a need for us.

Shaggy thank you. Finally a voice of reason. How is Sean Taylor going to help our DL? I don't know if Udeze is the anwser but we have to go DL in the first. Either trade down and get someone else or get him but please no Sean Taylor. Unless we have two first rounders.

Sorry but I could care less if he runs a 4.6. This is not track. Look what speed guys like Trung got us last year. I want a playmaker on the field like Taylor.

As far as DE's go, I'm much more interested in shuttle and cone drill times and maybe even his 20 yd sprint. These guys don't have to be track stars but speed around the corner is something DE's need in this day and age where a medium OT is in excess of 300 lbs.

So Udeze can't be a playmaker on the field???? If anything I think he'd more likely to make plays on the field then Taylor. We have had secondary players that can make plays such as Champ last year and we saw what happens to their playmaking ability when there is no pass rush. The playmaking in the secondary starts when pressure is placed on the QB.
As for the Trung analogy are you seriously comparing a DE to a RB??? What this shows is Udeze is fast enough to chase down RBs from behind and make plays. And when we are in a division with Donovan McNabb and Quincy Carter I would love to have a DE capable of chasing down the scrambling QBs.

I like Udeze, let's get him in here. We need someone who can get to the QB

if skins stick at #5 then take taylor/winslow as best pure player. if skins trade down to 9-10, take Randy Starks plus a player later in first round, then Lavalis in 2nd.

For the first time since Gibbs departure, I am just sitting back and relaxing and letting the master do what he does best!
So speculate away boys and girls, I have confidence that in the end we'll have the best player...so no worry or thought will be given from me on this subject.

285# and a 4.6 40 time is freakish.
A linebacker who plays safety very well is freakish.
Udeze and Taylor are the two players in the draft that are most likely to make an instant impact. So you have to determine...
1. What is the position of greatest need for the Skins and...
2. What position provides more value at the #5 spot.
The Skins are absolutely DESPERATE for a pass rush. Without a pass rush, Sean Taylor will just be another great DB in the Redskins backfield who has to run around for 6 seconds on third and long while the opposing QB calls up his receivers on their cell phones and advises them on how to adjust their routes.
I really want to see Udeze here along with another free agent DE. That is the only way that the Skins defense will be able to improve next season. One of the baseline requirements for a successful defense is a respectable pass rush.
