Its clear that Brunell is a better QB than Ramsey is right now, however Ramsey is the QB of the future. Ramsey shouldnt be whining for a trade(where he'd have to learn a new system anyways) and sit and learn Gibbs' new system. He'd be ready to take the reins from Brunell in a couple years.

I really don't see Patrick going anywhere.
We're in a good position with two good QB's. Whoever starts, your going to hear a lot of hootin' and hollering for every incomplete pass.
Welcome back to Washington DC football.

I think the only way Patrick is sent packing is if he continues to have has agent go to the media complaining. If he just goes to camp and does his job and competes I don't doubt that he'll be here for the future. But I'm not sure that they won't continue to go to the media and create a larger controversy.

I dont see Patrick in a Redskins uniform in 2004. Just my opinion. I think Sexton has burnt some bridges and that Gibbs is not goign to get into a mess with two QBs.

I agree Penn... Ramsey has tasted the spotlight and told he was the future now the future is 3 or 4 years away... All football players have ego's and as a matter of fact I would question Ramseys passion for the game if he didn't demand a trade.

Hasn't Gibbs had his share of QB controversies before on previous teams?

I say we keep Ramsey. If someone offered us a 1st round pick then I might send him packing. That is most likey not going to happen so I say keep them both.

With the contract being what it is, does Ramsey have a chance to earn the starting job?
If that is a yes, I fully expect Ramsey to stay and compete. If it's not going to be a fair competition, then i can see him wanting a trade... but he's not holding the power in this position.

I agree, but Sexton has too many clients wearing Burgundy & Gold. He might have some leverage with the renegotiation of Samuels' contract, but the skins could just cut one of his lesser clients and he'll shut up. If Ramsey wants a trade, that's his prerogetive, but he'll regret it in the end and the Skins will be handsomely compensated...

i don't see Gibbs and Snyder giving him up for picks. he is the future and they know that Brunell is a quick fix and won't be around for long and when he's gone they are going to need Patrick to take over. If they let him go now they are just going to add another necessity on our already long list.

Brunell will be the starter, get hurt. Then Ram will take over.

First, all QB's will battle it out in camp and the best will start.
Second, if Ramsey is traded I think it will because of concern over his foot proble/surgery. I've said since his "foot problem" was released that I've never met or heard of anyone having foot surgery and come out of it in better condition.
BTW, I welcome a vet with Brunell's ability to the B&G!

The QB battle has already been won.... 7 years and 43 million decided it

It decided nothing. Kurt Warner, Tim Couch, and Trent Dilfer are all QBs making more money then the guy starting in front of them and they were all on the bench last season. The contract doesn't determine the starter. The best players will play.

The key is what the Redskins have now set on as their salary cap number for their quarterbacks. If Ramsey truly beats out Brunell then he will start...if not, then Brunell will. Either way, Ramsey is not going anywhere.
Either way, the cap number remains relatively low for two starting quarterbacks....so both stay.

The player with the highest salary is pretty much expected to be the starter. Warner and Couch were given about a thousand opportunities to be the starting quarterback despite the way they were playing. An injury finally got Warner out of there. Couch is back to being the starter in Cleveland again. Holcomb lost his starting job last year and now he is hurt. Dilfer had to endure the death of his son, so I don't think he was in it mentally at all last season.
