I think this Brunell move was a huge mistake. But if they had to get him, y a 7 year contract? He's already washed up without these 7 extra years. Dan Snyder has done it again.

Its not a 7 year contract. Its basically a 3 or 4 year deal. Its 7 years in order to spread the signing bonus out and lessen the cap hit for this season.

still....i dont like it at all i think ramsey can be great in this system because gibbs puts a ton of people on the line to give him protection and there was a good connection between ramsey and coles.

I don't like it either, but it's too late now.

Seems you are in the minority. The Washington post poll shows 62.2 percent in favor of Brunell out of the 10,700 votes cast. Not scientific but probably a fare reflection.
I think it was a GREAT move.
Uh, how many games did Patrick win for us last year??????

I love it. Great move, cap friendly the first three years, we surrender only a third rounder for a QB that makes excellent decisions, great arm, and has otustadning pocket awareness.

Great move. QB is too important of a position to have 3 QBs on the roster with less than 25 starts under their belts... combined.
Experienced quarterbacking takes teams to the superbowl. Brad Johnson, Chandler, Elway, Favre, Warner, Gannon, Dilfer etc all had some miles on their tires when they went to the superbowl. Tom Brady is a freak of nature. Most successful QBs have been doing it for a while.

Don't hate it, but at this point can't say I'm excited either. Torn between having had wanted to watch the kid develope(even if it took a few years) and now depending on this years success, or lack there of, I feel you have opened the door for yet more anti-Skins, anti-Snyder, and now with Gibbs reputation hinging on Marks play, you realy have alot riding on this move! Too much for a 5 and 11 team, feel that at some point this organization as a whole should start at an Point (A) it just seems to me that if this move was by anyone other than Gibbs it would be viewed in an different light! If it was anyone other than Gibbs, there would be Mark-Jeff comparisons going on today. Am very openminded to this move, but fear the backlash if it bombs.
Jon you hit it on the head. If it was anybody else but Gibbs we would be calling for Snyders head. Or we would be saying how Fassel turned Collins around, or what Rhodes had done with his QBs.

NOOO!!! why does anyone like this move.... dont you like patrick ramsey?¿?¿ hes gonna seek a trade and i have a feeling hes leaving... everyone is sayin he isnt experienced enough.... how is he gonna get more experience? BY PLAYIN!! u just have to be pacient with him. it might take two or three years... thats ok... all im sayin is... I DONT LIKE THIS MOVE!!!
Ramsey threw way too many interceptions at crucial times in games. Just look at the first Eagles game and the interception that Kalu picked off. The interception in the Dallas game ona crucial fourth down, and another against Tampa which was returned for a td when we need to score. A veteran needs to come in and help Ramsey. Who better than Mark Brunell?

I don't agree with it but I have not been the one looking at the film of RAmsey, Gibbs obviously thinks Ramsey is not ready. He also has to reprogram Ramsey, de-spurrieate him.

Hey drunk...you must be drinking if you think that danny or joe for that matter is gonna sit and wait for ramsey to come around ..the coming around days are over pal....we need results quickly...I would rather have a verteran qb in there than a 2nd year rookie....and remember they both are rookies again learning anew system.....but brunells' experience and mobility will get us way more wins....

you cant just say how many games did ramsey win for us last year... i think we all agree that hasselbeck did fine, but how many games did he win? also, how many games has brunell won the last two years? im going to support this decision even though i dont like it, because they know football more than me.

2 good QB's is better than 1 any day Gibbs can handle all this crap about Ramsey wanting to leave and if Ramsey starts acting like a man and competes for and wins the job Gibbs can handle putting Brunell on the bench....Joe Gibbs is a leader of men and guys that is something we have not had around here since he left. He is a man of his word and if he tells Ramsey its an open compatition then it is.

I'm hoping Gibb's well documented "people skills" can settle Patrick down inspire him to make the most of this situation. I can't blame Pat for being upset cuz he did earn a starting job last year IMO

I like the fact that we brought in a veteran QB. I feel bad for Ramsey, but that's the way it goes in the NFL. Not only do we benefit with two experience QBs it also lets the rest of the team know that no one is guaranteed a starting position.

I like It.No one thought that Doug Williams,Mark Rypien,or Joey T were good enough Qbs to win, but they did so under Gibbs system.
This isnt going to end up looking that bad with the spread out cap hit.And anyone who doesnt think that our line will protect the Qb this year is sadly mistaken.Joe Bugel can coach the line folks. We have talent. Therefore much like any of the Qbs Gibbs had before,If you keep him upright Bruenell could be Rich gannon for us for 2-3 years.

I think the guy who can profit from this more then anyone is Patrick Ramsey but go tell that to his agent.
