If he doesn't want to be here and we can get something good then ship him out. If we can't get a high pick in return then keep him and he'll have to deal.

First off, i think jimmy sexton is a slimey little weasle.
Second, Its scary to think that if Brunell gets hurt and has to sit out (and lets not forget he is getting old), do we really want Hassleback to be our only option because we obviously won't have another option due to the fact that we need to focus on other positions for drafts and FA.
Third, if we really do trade Ramsey i will curl up into a fetal position and suck my thumb and not come out until we get into the playoffs.

I'm more worried about the lion's saying they won't give up their first round pick for Champ. What are they nuts!!! I would just stop talking to them all to together and go in another direction. Maybe another team who has a later first and a player we might want.

Imagine how upset you would be if he had actually led the league in something, went to the pro bowl, won a few games, or learned how to call the snap count without making his lineman jump offsides.

Once again this pisses me off. Ramsey is not winning any points here. His agent is a prick, have some faith in your guy, maybe he can win the job. P-Ram is being a selfish immmature kid, maybe he is not as tough as we think, being mentally tough is important too. Plenty of NFL greats have been challenged and had to compete to start in fact ever since pop warner I thought it was a norm for football players to compete.

No way he goes to the C-Boys ... that would ruin everything.

He has zero leverage. He is in no position to make demands and is not going anywhere.

The only way the Redskins trade Ramsey is if Eli Manning falls to 5 then they would trade Ramsey for the Dolphins 20th pick.
Other than that Ramsey can compete for the job as Gibbs who is a MAN OF HIS WORD has said.
I heard Brunell on the radio he is ready to battle for the job and expects to win it...Ramsey better get his head right and come to compete.

Who cares what Ramsey wants? He's young, he's cheap, and he's talented. The Redskins would be stupid to trade him for anything less than a top ten pick.

Gibbs will keep Ramsey. Ramsey is just upset now and I really think he and Brunnell will hit it off pretty good once camp starts. Ramsey definately has to grow up and stop being a kid.

Ramsey stays, of course I'm the one that said Brunnell wouldn't come to D.C.

Great post! It's obvious that Ramsey has talent but so far in his short career, his claim to fame is... "the kid is tough" or "he keeps getting up after taking so many hits". That's about as valuable to me as "look how good he tied his shoes today!" jeez...
I agree with others, Rams is young, talented, under contract, and about to have his toughest (and probably best) training camp yet.

Like someone already said...I'd like to see Ramsey on TV saying he wants to be traded...
Sexton is a mean son of a gun, and I wouldn't put it past him to make a bigger deal of this than Ramsey would like. I'll bet Sexton has been throwing his weight around Redskin Park considering he is the agent for both Samuels and Trotter. (Two guys the Skins could really benefit from restructuring)
The bottom line? Sexton loses about 60% of his commission this year if Ramsey's escalators are not met. I wouldn't put it past him to make steam without Ramsey's consent. And if so, then Ramsey needs to make the executive decision to either back Sexton or give him the gag order.

Exactly...DJ...I've been saying for awhile he needs to either man up or tell his agent to shut the he_ _ up....
Actually Sexton is a weasel anyway...Trotter, Samuels, Ramsey...and possibly Clarrett...he aint doing too well in my eyes...

If he doesn't want to learn at the knee of a HOFer w/ 3 rings, deal the punk. The Redskins once before had a young, tough, strong-armed qb who put up almost identical numbers (low to mid 70s qb rating) in his first few years in the league....the one and only Gus Frerotte. Look it up. Identical, and Gus had less talent around him. This guy was 4-7 as a starter and can't/won't compete for the job? You think Mike Vick would demand a trade if ATL brought Brunnell in to compete for his job? He'd laugh. Ramsey looks good compared to the Wuerfels, and Matthews, and Shulers of the past decade, but Coach Joe knows what it takes to win the SB, and obviously, at this point in time, he doesn't see Ramsey as the answer. The Redskins are undergoing a culture shift: out with the self-centered me-firsts (Champ, Ramsey, maybe Samuels) and in with the team players who want rings.

If he doesn't feel this way, then he needs to tell his agent to shut up. How many times has Sexton said this now? I can count of 4-5 different publications that have quoted him.
As I've said before, Sexton works for Ramsey, not the other way around. If Sexton is misrepresenting him, then Ramsey needs to fire him. Yet he allows Sexton to continue to yell "trade, trade, trade". As far as I'm concerned, every time Sexton utters "trade", Ramsey utters "trade".

Didnt Sexton say that "Ramsey asked me to seek a trade."? Doesnt that point to Ramsey holding the cards (or is Sexton just making it look that way)?

Best comment so far on the situation.....well stated Dex.....and anyone who thinks he holds extra value because he led the league in passing the first 3 weeks of the season is crazy....and are probably the same people who were chanting "superbowl bound" when we beat the 49ers in Osaka in the preseason 2 years ago....

I think Sexton has some to do with Ramsey seeking a trade, but Ramsey is no "babe in the woods" being nieve and taken advatage of by some unscrupulous agent. I didn't see Sexton at Redskins park having a multi-hour meeting with Gibbs to discuss the Brunell situation. That was Ramsey. So if he'd rather be a Steeler or a Dolphin then I say trade him. Yeah he's got a nice arm and seems to have a good football head but the guys 4-7. If he really looks at himself as this years undisputed Redskins QB then go out and prove it in training camp and the preseason.

I agree about Sexton. I believe he's using the Samuels situation to get what he wants for Ramsey. A trade. I'm also in the I want to hear it directly from Ramsey's mouth club. I will admit it doesn't look good for him because he hasn't gagged Sexton. But, Ramsey (forget about Sexton) will lose money as well. Everyone is focusing on Sexton losing money, Ramsey has escalators as well.
Ramsey needs to step up and let everyone know what he's thinking but until I hear it from him, I believe this is Sexton being Sexton.
I must also admit that I can understand why Ramsey may be keeping quiet and letting Sexton talk. If the talk about the takers for Ramsey is true and teams would be jumping to get him, then why wouldn't he want to investigate the options. This of course assumes that the teams who are supposedly interested would name him the starter.
