Gotta Love Tony!!

A week old, but nothing has changed
"If Patrick Ramsey wants to be the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins, let him go to training camp and outplay all the other quarterbacks in burgundy and gold. He's a young and talented prospect at quarterback and he's got a long road in front of him; he turns just 25 today, for heaven's sake. If he wants that road to wind through this city, he needs to shut up about who else is coming here to play quarterback. And get in there and compete like real football players do."

I'll give Ramsey a little time to be upset. I would probably be upset too. I don't think anyone saw this coming. He is only 25, so I would be worried if he didn't get a little upset about this deal.
But if he really keeps it up, then he would be showing a side to his personality that I haven't seen before. If he continues to "pout," then it is time to find out what we can get for him. Why is he so afraid of some competition? Sure, Brunell has the starters contract, but there are a lot of guys with starting contracts who have spent time on the bench. Tim Couch for one. When it comes down to it, there will be two good QBs in camp trying to show that they are the best. If Ramsey is not up for that, then he isn't quite the man that I thought he was.

He should keep his mouth shut and play. Compete for the starting position if he fails then he needs to keep working. He really hasn't proved much besides being able to take a beating. He still needs to read defenses better and get rid of the ball quicker.

Listen when joe came in he mentioned that he wanted a more veteran presence with his qb staff...Ramsey should have known thennwhat he was saying....nothing in this league is guarenteed the only thing that is guarenteed is practice...I guess his pride is a little hurt but he'll get over it...I do hope that he comes to...He thinks because he took some hits...he gets to start...he should also have known that nothing should surprise him...but that happens when you're young and don't know any better...
Sexton is just mad..because he knows that his commmision will go remember ramsey agreed to the terms of his contract not...Joe..or Danny for that matter....so if he wants to be upset at anyone it should be his agent...not the skins...Sexton negotiated this screwed up deal.....not joe, spurrier, danny only sexton HIS AGENT....

Ramsey should just relax. Its only going to take a couple of games before Brunell goes down with an injury and Ramsey will again be the starting QB.

Why is it ok for Brunnell to demand to be the starter but it is not ok for Ramsey to want at least a shot? I'd be pissed too if I ate **** with a smile for two years to earn a shot, then the new coach wines, dines and hands the keys to someone else. Only one of these guys was considered the starter on thier team last year. Plus this new savior is going to take $2.5million from my plate just this year? I don't think any of you would be a happy camper.
Ok so your saying he can lead the team over the hump? All I hear is "blow it up! This is not a "last piece of the puzzle" scenario. If it is, then why is our best DB going, why is there all this call for -trade Gardener, trade Trotter, trade Samuels, cut all of the safeties, cut all our RBs, blow up the whole defensive line, get a new center, fire the punter... The first part dosn't jive with the second part.
AND, I don't believe for a second that Ramsey is ill about an QB competition. I do believe he is ill for no chance at all.
btw, Lets see, what if ESPN decided to replace Mr. Tony with say..Rush Limbaugh, on PTI. Limbaugh has a better resume' after all. I wonder how Mr. Tony and his wallet would feel?

I'm fairly certain that Brunnell said he wanted to go to a place where he had a legitimate CHANCE to be a starter, not to be given the job on a silver platter. Gibbs has said that the competition is open, thats a good enough shot for me.
I'd be dissapointed too, but time to bite his tongue.
