That's a disgusting number. Heads will roll (glad the league expanded the cap to $80).

It's amazing how much money the Redskins are doling out to guys who have underperformed -- Wynn, Trotter, Larry Moore, Fiore, and especially Samuels. What a load of crap that he has been unwilling to re-work his contract to make it more cap-friendly...he was a top 3 pick, he is supposed to be on a par with Orlando Pace and Jonathan Ogden -- he can't carry those guys jock straps, let alone Jon Jansen's.

Samuels needs to help this team fix this or he will be elsewhere for less money this season

I am sure that it has already been said, but Samuels' value is dropping by the day.

1. We just switched to a left handed QB, so Jansen, who is by far the better OT, is now the more important OT.

2. We now have a more mobile QB, so we can afford to bring in an average LT for an average price.

3. Samuels ability has plateaued at an average LT level. He has focus and confidence problems that Bugel will have his hands full fixing.

4. His agent isn't going to work with the front office.

I hope they can find a way to keep him around, because we can't afford to create any more holes and he is at least good enough to start in the league. He just hasn't played anywhere close to his salary level. So he is going to have to restructure or he is gone.

also with the cuts coming, the skins will save around 10-13 million

Anyone know how much space we could save by simply cutting Samuels?

In relation to the 79.851 cap figure:

If we cut Samuels before June 1st, we will save $348,000. If we cut him after June 1st, the savings will be 4.338 mill (with 3.99 mill dead money in 2005).

How much cap room do we save if Bruce Smith Retires

Can someone please definatively tell me where these cuts in the cap are going to come from.

Yes, unfortunately... he did some restructuring a few years ago.

So, as many members have already pointed out before, Samuels is virtually uncuttable-untradable (unless you want to eat 8 million).

Isn't a trade less hurtful to cap #'s? Brought this up last week, send out feelers now! Say we do in fact trade him for either straight up for a current player, or for a pick, are the Skins accountable for his s.b.? Or is this negotiable in the trade? Just say a team would give up a high second rounder for him, what are the consequences? .............The Brandon Winey Cult lives!!!

I think Bugel will help his game alot but he most certainly needs to help the team.
