Running Backs

Scouting Report: Greg Jones

Big, powerful workhorse back coming off major knee surgery. Patient ball carrier that waits for blocks to develop, sees the field and will pick and choose his spots. Combines a lot of different skills with an overpowering style on the inside yet Jones also displays the agility to get around tackle and cut the corner.

Date: Oct 16, 2003
Explosive runner with great elusiveness, speed, and athleticism. Runs with good lean and balance, keeps his footing after the initial hit.

Tight Ends

Scouting Report: Kellen Winslow Jr
By TFY Draft Preview
Date: Nov 3, 2003
Tremendous athlete and a great football player that's a "chip off the old block". Fluid releasing off the line, runs like a receiver and an effective route runner that gets separation.
Winslow, like his father, is indeed a rare specimen justifying the label a "special player".

Bruce Perry, from the Terps. ACC player of the year two years back, been injured since. Was nasty when he was on the field.

The Portis thing kinda pushes this draft a RB stuff to the backburner, eh?

By the time we get to April's draft, we very well might not have a pick to use. Hell, if things play out like reported, we are down to 2 now.

And is this such a bad thing? ? ?

I think we are seeing a side of Coach Gibbs that favors the established NFL player over the potential of a rookie star...
just my 2 cents . . .
