Oh well.....i want portis a lot but they should be happy. Its harder to get a prime time cb than a prime time rb. They should be pumped to get him and a 2nd round pick.

I don't know if this is a good comparison, But I would feel the same way if we traded Ramsey. It's never good to see a great young player like that leave. My condolences, Bronco fans. Not sorry enough for them to not want CP, however.

Hey spider are we still reportedly giving you this years 2nd?If so, dont you feel that is a bit steep on our part?Ok,bailey is a stud, portis the same.Bailey has to work out a new deal,Portis has to work out a new deal. They are each top 3 or better at their respective positions. You wanted a 1st and 2nd for Portis,we wanted the same for bailey. Why do we have to throw in a second.Im still having a hard time with this lol.I mean I think were getting what we need, but so are you guys right?

Kinda , Gibbs must have agreed that the second round pick wasnt to much to ask .......
Wait untill you see Portis run , then come back and ask me that question .......... I can put this way I had KOA denver sports talk the zoo on , Raider fan , Chief fans calling in Happy Portis is gone .....

Thanks for the info.I have faith in Gibbs and his decesion making skills, Gibbs knows what hes doing. Im just a concerned fan watching us trade away picks.Believe me I think were getting a great back.I have no doubt Portis will be great, but at the very least we should be swapping 2nds IMHO.I guess thats why im not in charge though lol.Perhaps we had to give a little more to ensure you guys didnt deal him elsewhere.

That very well could be ..... Iknow the Cowboys were interested ...... All in all if Portis had to Leave I am glad he went to you guys , I hate the Cowboys , and the Raiders , Ravens ... I would have died seeing portis as a Cowboy ( dont ask it is a Wyoming / Colorado - Texas thing ) ....

Seeking Spider input. Spider, on another site I frequent known good Broncos fans mentioned that Portis is alittle too flashy(the word they used) maybe for coach Mike? Your input? Knowing what you know about Gibbs, any clash concerns? Another guy heard Clint on an radio interview and said Clint sounded very(word used by Bronco fan) happy to play in D.C.! You watch and follow the kid all the time, any quirks that we may not be aware of? You would be getting a great player in Champ, one that may even play better in a new setting! Man lets make it next years 2nd rounder!!!!

Portis is known to dress very flashy. I don't think that bothers Shanahan though. Of course we all know about the championship belt on the sidelines during the Chiefs game, but heck, with over 200 yards and 5 TD's he deserved it.
As far as being happy to play in DC, I think what he is really saying is he is happy to get a new contract. Snyder is the perfect owner for him. I don't think he cares where he plays.

I would have traded Ramsey for Miami's DE Ogo......... That would have been a great deal if it was true.
The Broncos will draft Jones in the 2nd and he will be sick.

wow very outstanding Question ...........
Portis does have flair , but he will say and do the right things in interviews ....... Portis will pull stunts like the Belt , but no on the field crap Like Horn and T.O . .........
Gibbs will love Portis , as did Bowlen and Shanny , But Portis will speak his mind to the papers , Not solving problems in house ... Maybe he learnd a lesson in here in Denver ......... Thats somthng you guys will have to be carefull of . But if Portis says he is Happy to be in D.C. then i believe him . closer to Miami , he does love Miami .........

Disagreed for reasons I stated in munerous others posts. Bottom line, Portis is a game changer, an offensive impact maker, Champ is great, he is an upgrade to any defense, but he does not change the entire scope and face of a defense. Portis does. Portis not only changes the entire face of our offense, but also how defenses will play our offense. Truly an impact player at age 23, with a great future.

That pretty much sums it up ........With a Back like stephen Davis you have some reaction time , With Portis Speed the reaction time is alot less , Meaning He forces Defenses to stay Home !!!!!!!!!
all it takes is 1 Dplayer out of Position and Portis is gone ... Thats a fact ....... you wont arm Tackle Portis and taking him One on one Hurts ....... and he is only 22 , he still has 2 years to get to his ideal Size .......

Portis is one of 3 Backs in the NFL History to get 3000+ in his first 2 years .........
Butch Davis his old Coach Past over Portis in the Draft , took Green , we all seen how that has worked so far ........
So here is the only fact we have in front of us .....
What has Willis and Gore done in the NFL ?
What has Portis done ?

That is nothing more than questionable judgement at this point.
You are acting like Portis hasn't put up 3000 yards in what basically amounts to 26 NFL games and a better than 1:1 ration on TD's to games played.
Argue this fact. What has Willis McGahee accomplished in the NFL? Should we trade Champ to the Bills straight up for McGahee? That would be ludicrous.

I think this being a superstar swap is going to make people nervous no matter WHO is involved. It is rare in the NFL for this to happen. Really there is no way to forsee the positives or negatives of this type of trade... atleast until next season.

Well I feel the same way about looseing Champ and again I never said Porttis isn't a good play ask anyone on this board how I feel about my Hurricanes. But the bottom like is this trade could end up for us like when Minnesota gave up to much for Hershell or when New Orleans gave up to much for Rickey.

Depressed? Why? They are getting Bailey and our 2nd rounder. Plus, all i hear from those Bronco fans is that they can plug any RB in their system and be successful. I guess their true feelings come out on their message board. (That's more of a joke. I was impressed with the way Bronco fans represented themselves here during this trade.)

We are not giving up nearly as much as Minnesota did for Herschel Walker. They gave up something like 6 draft picks and 7 players or vice versa and although the trade didn't work out for New Orleans, I don't think anyone in Miami is complaining about Ricky Williams productivity.
You can't blame Ricky for Mike Ditka going off the deep end.

I can't believe I am going to say this, but I am. In all fairness to Portis, it's not really fair to judge him because he didn't get PT at Miami. They are not really a college team, closer to unpaid professionals. The competition that Portis faced at RB there was more stacked than he will see on most NFL teams.

My favorite excerpt from the Bills message board:
"I've heard Bailey is a real team player and is highly regarded by his teammates."
Goes to show you how little other teams fans know about someone else's players. Bailey a "real team player"? LMAO He doesn't seem like much of a team player after this fiasco w/his contract.

Willis went in the first round becuase the bills were less then smart on there pick. he probably won't even play next year becuase travis henry is a much better back. but then again i may be wrong
